My son in law is there.... I just got off the phone with him. He is on the train heading back to his vehicle to go home. Lots of people saying that Antifa like folks infiltrated and stirred up the folks to get the break in of the Capital going.... who knows, I do know this the vast vast majority are there and peacefully protesting.

The Federal Government should have addressed people's concerns over the discrepancies in the Election WEEKS ago. Instead they kept muttering the same claptrap of "securist election evah!" and ignored it.
Then they have the audacity to send billions of our money overseas on worthless "projects".

I'd hazard a guess that there were more than a handful of Confederate flags about. Many of the descendants of Johnny Reb are very close to DC, and share a surprising number of political viewpoints with their Yankee counterparts. That flag is part of their heritage as much as the Betsey Ross flag or the Gadsden flag.
Edit: I'm curious what the flag is behind the American flag in the picture you posted...being held at an angle by the dude on the right and behind the tall horned Dan'l Boone wannabe with the bullhorn. Quite possibly a Confederate battle flag.
