So my Benchmade Presidio II (570SBK) showed up today. Ordered it Friday night and arrived in New Yorkistan today from Utah. 1st impressions: this knife lets you know its around. Not a light one by any means but I wanted that. At this price point, I want to know its on my person and not on the floor, couch, car etc....very smooth opening with a solid lockup. No blade play out of the box. No imperfections in the T6 aluminum handle. Paint is even. The axis blade release is a little gritty but I chalk it up as being brand new. Using the thumb only on one side of the spring release you do feel the metal on metal. When I use my thumb and index fingers together, a much smoother feel as even pressure is applied. One gripe....blade is very slightly off centered. Not near rubbing on the inside scale but I am a perfectionist. I am going to give it wear in time before anything is done to see if any natural shift occurs as my opening pressure is opposite the off centered direction.
