So I have always really liked the look of the CZ P-01, but one reason (other than I have other shit going on and legit don't actually need one right now) I haven't been looking at buying one lately is the fact that no one is trying to do an RMR on them.

Until now, nope CZC has done it and now I want to finish my P-07 (last night i was starting to get an itch for a P-09 but this might have changed a few rhings) and then get myself a P-01 Which I hear has a nicer trigger

So because of how much I like the look of the P-01s I was almost willing to settle for seeing if someone would be able to mill one for a RMS Shield, but now that I see I wouldn't have to settle for anything less than an RMR (yes I know they are not perfect but for me they are what I would run others may be better at one thing or another, but the RMR seems to be the glock of the pistol red dot world, all around)

Deltapoint would be my one other option, only reason I'd opt for rmrs over the delta besides how rugged an RMR is (which for an EDC isn't really that big of a deal) would be battery life rmr has 1-2 years and the delta point is 6 months.

One of the vortex offerings is also a good 3rd option but I don't see me personally going with one when the RMR just came down i price and dp pro isn't to bad either

Aimpoint will eventually drop their Nano independent of the bizarre B&T wannabe machine pistol thing. But that will prolly be the Daddy Warbucks option.

So 2 things, 1 I don't hate the stupid wannabe, granted it really only would be more practical if say it was 3 round burst but still I just can't hate it.

2nd I keep hearing aimpoint is dropping a pistol red dot, and if that's what it is in the picture I'm no longer all that excited, not that it's really all that much bulk but it still seems like the missed the mark with making it larger than literally every other offering

So to cowitness if the slide is milled correctly you will need suppressor height sights (with the CZ ones it's a bit of a trial and error as the rear sight is usually refilled for a glock rear sight, so most places will try to size up the correct cz front sight to give you the correct poa/poi, or will even modify the front sight to work)

But a new red dot is on the market that is small enough that when milled into the slide it will work with stock height sights (the RMS Shield, out of Europe, England I believe).

Other options are the Delta Point which needs a suppressor height front, but the sight itself has a rear sight that mounts to it so you don't have to find a suppressor height rear sight.

Next option would be either the dueck defense or Suarez international dovetail mounts (I believe they are only set up for glocks and maybe maybe M&P, and I think only with an RMR) (pictured below) which are mounts with the back up sights integrated into them

The Suarez international mount is similar but instead of sights fixed into it, you can use any suppressor height glock sights making the mount adjustable for accuracy.

Neither of those are as good as getting the slide milled but a decent option giving you back up irons just in case you later decide meh not into the whole red dot idea, saving you the cost of milling (about the same cost as the mounts) and then buying the suppressor sights (about another $100)

granted with milling the slide you get the sight closer to the bore which leads to better POA/POI, and with say a glock if you decide you don' want to run the red dot they make cover plates for the milled area.

Then another option would be just a plan old dovetail mount but this leaves you without back up iron sights which if it's just a fun gun range toy or competition gun isn't much of an issue other than being a bit higher over the bore

So for what it is I am also interested in it (say for like a glock 43 or m&p shield size gun, not that I am a fan of them or have any use personally for one) granted I did watch one review of it (sage dynamics) who did some tourture testing (way more than a normal civilian edc would probably see) and the thing I'm not fond of was after 2 chest high drops the sight was OOC, I also don' know battery life and am not big on auto adjusting, but this is a company that is making the British military optics and they are not new, but the shield is the first of their offerings so it could be improved

For what it's worth I will be putting an RMS on my 43 in the near future. I went with the vortex and seems to be holding up well. I don't like the battery and adjustments on it. Other than that I think it's durable enough to be used for edc.
