Daniel Defense customer service revisited.

Some of you may know that I had contacted Daniel Defense about refinishing my well worn rifle from the original, and not terribly durable, Kryptek Typhon hydrodip to their new Deep Woods Cerakote finish. I had simply inquired about the cost of such. Well not only are they doing it under warranty they are simply going to replace the whole rifle! And they will be swapping me out for an MLok handguard as opposed to the Keymod one I had on the original.
While I think its kind of a waste to replace a rifle that had been running perfectly well I won't turn down a brand new rifle.

I agree that’s customer service, but I agree it’s unnecessary and that’s why their riffle cost what they do.

I belive I paid $1380 for it orginally. And because of their wasteful customer service policy, and It certainly is wasteful, I am getting a brand new rifle at no cost. So really its like I paid $1380 for two rifles now. When you look at it that way the cost is quite reasonable.

What are you beefing about now? Despite the finish issue, which wasn't the end of the world, I was very happy with rifle I'm turning in. In fact If I had known ahead of time that they were just gonna scrap it I proly wouldn't have bothered with it. But seeing as how I had brought it to Mechanicsburg from home, 2 hours away, and I can't keep it in the truck I felt compelled to go through with it.

I doubt its will be a lemon. Even if it was DD would obviously take care of it.

Love that Deep Woods color! Its like earthier shade of olive drab.
If you are so salty there Mr. Man, get yourself down to PA sometime and you can shoot it to your heart's content.
