This is fucked right up. I emailed them and I'm sure it's going to take forever because of this COVID crap. I hope I don't need to send it in to get a light pipe replaced.I watched your video on it. Wow. Very nice. Get that sight repaired!!
Crazy. I emailed Glock for a new locking bock pin that was peeling its coating, they said its normal and no big deal but if I wanted one they will only send it to a dealer or whatever. They don't send internal parts to customers. It's not worth the trouble. I could always buy one online for $4 if it really bothers me. But I shouldn't have to.This is fucked right up. One shot!
I'm trying to determine which diameter I have.Light pipes fly off every once in a while and generally easy to replace. Guys I shoot with keep extras and a lighter to “seal/peen/round” the edges to hold them in for a while. If you don’t have extras and DW is delayed, I’ll send you some if I have diams that match.
I think the standard size is .125" but some like the .100"I'm trying to determine which diameter I have.
I think those dimensions would be sight height - not pipe diameter. Maybe shotgun sight pipe diam but not pistol.I think the standard size is .125" but some like the .100"
1/16 inch fits.If you have no extras, see what small drill bit slides in easily.
You better make those fuckers reimburse you!! Or ask for free shirts or something.1/16 inch fits.

Is this something you have done?
Will the front sight wiggle laterally at all with this method?yea - me and everyone else with a front FO sight!
Use the lighter to mushroom one side of the long light pipe that you get. Then slide it through the sight, and cut it off slightly longer than needed using a nail clipper or other sort of flush cutter. Then use the lighter to mushroom that side. Don't leave the lighter on it too long - wave it across like the motion you'd do with a spray paint can if that makes sense. You might screw it up the first time, but you'll get the hang of it and you'll have plenty of extra material if you mess up, so don't stress about it.
PS - you can use a small heat gun rather than a lighter too, but using a lighter preps you for doing it in the field.

Front to back.If you mean left to right, only if you measured wrong.
If you mean front to back, only if you snipped it too long.
Smart ass comments aside, you ordered enough that you'll be able to trial and error it, cut it off and try again if it's not perfect.
And one shot in and...it's broken!

Fiber optic blew off in one shot.
AYFKM!?
Not how I want to start into 1911s...
Sounds like he was being irresponsible. I am going to petition his licensing officer to look into this matter for the sake of public safetycome on you were being demolition ranch and shot the site off the 1911 with your glock .. fess up lol ..
No, it's OK, I had a mask on.Sounds like he was being irresponsible. I am going to petition his licensing officer to look into this matter for the sake of public safety
I seriously do not allow fiber optic sights on any of my shooting irons for this reason. Iron sights are iron sights. Plastic is a liability. And one shot in and...it's broken!

Well, to be fair, now these are iron sights.I seriously do not allow fiber optic sights on any of my shooting irons for this reason. Iron sights are iron sights. Plastic is a liability.

Still puts a bad taste in your mouth when you buy a $2200 gun. Hopefully they take care of you. I would tell them you bought a new sight on your own and see if they will send you a check or a bunch of gear like hats and shirts or an extra mag or something.Well, to be fair, now these are iron sights.
It's not like the sight disappears when the light pipe goes flying. You still have a standard sight picture, just no bright spot on the front.
Damn right. I want them to send me light pipes and swag.Still puts a bad taste in your mouth when you buy a $2200 gun. Hopefully they take care of you. For visibility I painted the iron sights on my revolvers, but damn they're still metal. Now and then I touch them up. I use alternating layers of white then fluorescent orange nail polish. Final coat is clear. For 3 bottles of what's basically laquer I spend about $25. Lifetime supply.Well, to be fair, now these are iron sights.

Sounds reasonable to me. Make sure to let them know how disappointed you are. Just be polite and respectful. When people become rude assholes is when I stop helping them.Damn right. I want them to send me light pipes and swag.
I even adorned my truck with the free sticker that came in the Dan Wesson box. Because they put a sticker in there instead of something useful like spare pipes.
