Debate - buddy of mine and I are comparing our setups for EDC

A buddy of mine and I are comparing our setups for EDC and I need help settling the score-

My setup is a Springfield XD with tier1 tactical holster and a kore nylon belt with x5 buckle.

My buddy has a Glock 19 in a tier1 axis elite holster with TLR7. He wears a Crossbreed executive Leather belt.

I feel like we are a wash on the holster but the rest is the debate part.

I cannot really say. My EDC changes on a weekly, sometimes a daily basis. Depends on where I am going and what I am wearing.

I change things up all of the time. Gun, holster, belt, and knife. Always changing.

To settle it you need to go to the range and see who draws better and shoots better.
If you had a pocket bond arms .22lr and could hit the target and he had a desert Eagle .50ae and couldn’t hit the target I’d say your bond arms .22lr is a better set up. Equipment means nothing if you can’t or don’t know how to use it.

It is all so arbitrary.
G19 is a great gun but not those holsters for me. They do not pass my requirements.
I guess for a given person whatever is super consistent and repeatable, faster, effective and confortable... that is the right one.
Wiith and empty or dummy gun, Try a round of jumping, crawling, wrestling on the ground, and then reach for the gun unholstering standing, from the ground, while running...
The springfield or that setup would not be my first choice.
I must have gone through 30 holsters until I found what works best for me.
I also have a compact setup for parties/galas/etc...
Brands and fashions or styles do not matter at all. The only thing that matters is what it works 100% of the time tested over and over again.

To me is neither setup is ideal aside from the proven G19.

Really the only thing that matters most is what works for each of you. I will say id much prefer the Glock personally over the Springfield, but I have several G19s and am very comfy with them and shoot them all well. So thats what works for me.

Your buddy, sorry. His belt isn’t a great choice. All he has to do is get a better belt like you’re running. But replacing a belt is a lot cheaper than having to buy an entire new gun to replace the XD.
