If this is political, move it. Also, some of you are going to not agree with me on this, so play nice
I'm seeing a lot of shit on Facebook from my liberal friends and family who voted for Hillary and are now calling things off with people for having that opinion. In the face of having their concerns simply dismissed for being gay/trans/Christian/not Christian/etc. they're calling those people sexist/racist/misogynist/etc. So people who are having their concerns dismissed are doing the same to those same people. A friend made a post that not everyone who voted for Trump is a card carrying KKK member trying to hang black people and boycotting Target for letting people take a shit. Some people wanted change, period. Money has changed hands to go into poor neighborhoods, people aren't getting raises anymore, people are serving 1000 years in Congress, etc. Some people voted for change to that. For simply having those views, they're being simply dismissed as racist or whatever.
These people who voted for Hillary are now afraid that since they're gay/a woman/Muslim/etc. they're suddenly gonna have no voice and are gonna be carted away on trains and driven off a mountain.
That's insane to think that. While I agree that "locker room talk/rape culture" and other things may become more acceptable or more mainstream, it doesn't mean we just stop raising our kids. Raise your kids to fight back and stand up when they believe in something.
I have plenty of women/gay/religious friends and family and I don't care if someone is transgender or wants to take a shit wherever (save your "but they're gonna rape our daughters!" Really, save it). I think their fears are overblown a bit, but I'm with them. It's their choice, and I could really give a shit what they do. It's none of my business. As a white male, I'm not going to sit idly by while someone thinks it's ok to sexually assault or harass them. I'm not gonna let them round them up into train cars and burn them alive. Not all Muslims are terrorists, not all white people want to kill black people, not all BLM's want to kill cops.
I'm not with him, I'm not with her, I'm with America. I support some of the things he wants to change, but I also support Americans. As an armed citizen, it is my duty to stand up for those who won't arm themselves, those who are oppressed, and against a tyrannical government. If they really start rounding up honest people, they'll have to go through me as well. I voted for change, as I'm sure many did. I don't thing anyone voted for a Holocaust.
