The right to vote is given to all in the USA if you are a citizen no need to an amendment to the state constitution.
My comment was a bit of sarcasm more than a serious statement. It made sense in my head as in if they are allowing same day voting then constitutional carry must be allowed. Probably wasn’t very clear to anyone but me.

Yes all can vote, but the States can make the rules ( mail-in voting violated the Delaware Constitution ). Delaware has a process for voting in there State Constitution any changes must be done by amendment voted on by the people.

But the process to vote is up to each state legislature, and only the legislature.

The executive can't make changes, any changes would have to be voted on by the legislature.

So, adding "vote by mail" isn't something that can be done easily. If someone claims "vote by mail" is required in order to accommodate the right to vote in general, they would need the legislature to agree, or would need to sue and have the supreme court rule that the existing voting scheme is unconstitutionally discriminatory.

They didn't do either of those, they just got the governor to say "OK, I'll change it".

He has as much authority to make that change as the dog catcher.

Likewise, the right to "keep and bear arms" is a right for all of the people.
The process of "keeping and bearing" is up to the States, but MUST abide by default allowance! (hence: shall issue)

But, by the same token, each and every hoop we have to jump through with regards to carrying can then be used on EVERY OTHER RIGHT?
So a State can require 16 hour training courses, disclosure of residents, disclosure of social media, etc., before someone will be allowed to vote?

This is the next direction we should take to restore our 2nd Amendment Rights. Have some politicians willing to apply these infringements across the board.
That'll stop this nonsense very quickly.

agreed, I’m against mail-in voting and I don’t support it. I think most of not all politicians are overstepping their legal authority these days.
