It can not be transferred after 30 days with out a call from nics. if you go past the 30 days a new nics and can not be transferred at that time either unless you get a proceed
Yes ,, you are still fkd in the shit stain on the underwear of lifeThanks. Yup, I understand, I'll need a new NICS after 30 days. But are we in NYS still fucked for the full 30+ if it goes past 3 days? Does the FBI stop checking and assume to proceed if they don't meet the 3 day window?
Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the reply.Yes ,, you are still fkd in the shit stain on the underwear of life
Dude...1st day of Hunting Season is a state holiday. Politicians who fuck with the 2A here... Don't get re-elected... ESPECIALLY NOW... The only really blue districts in this state is Philly and Pittsburg and some of the suburbs of those cities. The rest of the state is red as fuck... And even the blue voters here own guns... And it's starting to swing back to total red. So yeah... I think 2A rights are gonna hold up here for a long time.Thanks. It's not looking good though.
I'm strongly considering leaving and looking at options. PA's not too far to visit family.
Do you expect the politics in PA to hold out in favor of 2A for long?
Worse still for NY residents.Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the reply.
PA: No state taxes on pension, social security, IRA/401K/etc distributions. One bad thing: They do have a death/inheritance tax (4.5% for transfers to direct descendants (lineal heirs), 12% for transfers to siblings, and 15% for transfers to other heirs)Thanks for the info - PA will definitely be on my list of options. I love the southern tier in NY and I know that much of PA is pretty much the same geographically. BONUS - state pensions are not taxed, so I'd get to spend my NYS pension where it's welcomed! On boolits!
That was another prime motivation for the PA move.. Civil Service pensions are not taxed at the state level.. And yes.. that means extra pewpew food! Thanks for the info - PA will definitely be on my list of options. I ain’t worried about it. Ain’t leaving shit for anyone. Everything I own is being liquidated and given to the ASPCA, AQHA Rescue, Draft Horse Rescue, and a few Veteran organizations…PA: No state taxes on pension, social security, IRA/401K/etc distributions. One bad thing: They do have a death/inheritance tax (.5% for transfers to direct descendants (lineal heirs), 12% for transfers to siblings, and 15% for transfers to other heirs)
I belive you have a typo since it is 4.5 percent on transfers to direct descendants and lineal heirs.PA: No state taxes on pension, social security, IRA/401K/etc distributions. It’s possible Bruen may have been a factor. Didn’t hear anything about the 30 day rule in the SCOTUS decision, but then I didn’t actually read the whole thing since it didn’t affect me. Might have just been a timing thing with the holiday weekend and submitting so late in the day. Think I saw you submitted Friday at 5 PM… So maybe everything just got pushed till Monday. Either way, doesn’t really matter at this point. Done is done. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth right? Congrats on the new pew pew..Lucked out and got the approval to proceed. It was in my dealers inbox this morning when they opened shop. So I got my new CZ P01. Dealer did say they had some NICS approvals come back 10 or so days out. So by my experience my approval came back just outside 72 hours. Maybe some things are improving and not necessarily the death sentence it was a couple years ago. Any possibility Bruen could be a factor?
Took my wife recently to get the Shied E-Z as she’s getting older and racking a slide is getting more difficult. She filled out the NICS and before she even finished the Purchase order.. Approved… I mean it was literally less than 3 minutes… I was FLOORED! Like WTF! Someone ate their Wheeties that day!I just bought two pistols and my friend another pistol with me standing there. The FFL did the NICS in front of me and him and they read off the name and the question responses and then the proceed for us both was within seconds. FBI must have typed in the name while on the phone and by the end he just said do I have a confirmation on a proceed? And the FBI agent said yes confirmed since I could hear him on the other end of the line. Super easy. 30 minutes in and out with chit chat, filling out the paperwork, checking out the guns, and doing the PPO paperwork.
My concern is that, if they actually have the FFL call NYSP and have NYSP do the NICS, there will be artificial delays built in to discourage people from exercising their rights. Something along the lines of "wait 5 days before you perform any new check".Yes the FFL was on the phone for less than 5 minutes with conducting two background checks for the three firearms.
Better odds they have one guy handling all the calls for NYS and your FFL needs to sit on hold for 45 mins to even talk to him.My concern is that, if they actually have the FFL call NYSP and have NYSP do the NICS, there will be artificial delays built in to discourage people from exercising their rights. Right now I can walk in and buy a gun and be done in less than 15 minutes. Artificial delays are a deliberate infringement of my 2A right and should be thrown out as unconstitutional.
You are correct, my cut and paste from the PA site was missing the 4. Sorry about that and thanks for catching this.I belive you have a typo since it is 4.5 percent on transfers to direct descendants and lineal heirs.
Inheritance Tax | Department of Revenue | Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

Inheritance tax is imposed as a percentage of the value of a decedent's estate transferred to beneficiaries by will, heirs by intestacy and transferees by operation of law. The tax rate varies depending on the relationship of the heir to the decedent.
www.revenue.pa.gov
Yes I don’t disagree with you there. I was just speaking to my experience in relation to the person being told the NCIS is busy and that’s what caused the delay. I’m not sure that’s the cause. My concern is that, if they actually have the FFL call NYSP and have NYSP do the NICS, there will be artificial delays built in to discourage people from exercising their rights. I don’t think so… To be honest, when I was on the job I used to talk to NYS Troopers all the time… Most of the ones I met over the 23 years I was a LEO, (like 95%) were very much Pro 2A. If the State Troopers took over I think it would go smoother and quicker. The ones causing the MOST problems are the liberal judges who are supposed to be issuing pistol permits. The local Sheriffs are doing their part.. at least upstate they were… But these f*ing liberal ass judges that would get moved from NYC and Westchester to Putnam, Orange, etc.. They would drag their feet and intentionally try to find reasons to disqualify someone even though they passed an NICS… When my wife was getting her permit in Putnam, the COURT, not the sheriff, sat on her paperwork for a premises permit for 19 months AFTER the sheriff’s office submitted it…As bad as it might be at times, there is no doubt it will be worse if NYSP takes over.
Like yourself there are a lot of pro-2A LEOs, I have no doubt about that. I've worked with many over the years. Individually I wouldn't fault them but under the whip of NYS, as an organization they would be hamstrung, I think. At the end of the day Bruen is their boss, and while they might not agree with the policy, what choice would they have that would make a difference? It works well in PA running their own BGC because as you said the pols don't fuck with 2A and survive long. Please don't read me as anti-LEO, I'm not, at least not at state and local levels. I hope you are right, but I just don't believe NYS gov't has a lot of interest in making anything 2A go smoother or quicker.I don’t think so… To be honest, when I was on the job I used to talk to NYS Troopers all the time… Most of the ones I met over the 23 years I was a LEO, (like 95%) were very much Pro 2A. They will not put pro 2a NYS troopers in charge of this.I don’t think so… To be honest, when I was on the job I used to talk to NYS Troopers all the time… Most of the ones I met over the 23 years I was a LEO, (like 95%) were very much Pro 2A. I use my SS# as well since the government knows it anyway. Also my name is very unique so it would be an easy search either way.Bought 2 Rossi 22lr SA rifles last week for plinking. FFL entered info on computer from the time he hit enter till I got my approval was maybe 30 seconds. I always use my SS#.
