I had a teflon pan back in college (many years ago). It started flaking. Never touched non-stick pans again after that. I cook with stainless, copper, and cast iron. Butter, tallow, lard, and oil are always your best friend. Let the vegans enjoy their black bean burgers cooked in a non-stick pan.

Modern non-stick isn't the same as the flaking stuff we saw in the 70s and 80s.
this is just Albany doing what Albany does. Try to control each and every aspect of people's lives.

I’m on municipal water and will only need a sediment filter, carbon filter, and I’ll do a softener for my wife’s hair and skin. I don’t need any iron or sulfur removal. I used to run a sink filter and an ro for my saltwater tanks. I don’t think my maintenance costs will be terrible but regardless it will be worth it. It will help with my tankless hot water heater and make my life easier with cleaning.
Just curious what you think you spend a year on maintenance costs for yours? I’m figuring $300 per year for salt and two sets of filter changes. I don’t need any mixed bed resins or anything like that.

My costs are going to vary greatly compared to yours. Its about $20 for a sediment filter and $60 for carbon.
WAG but with water that is already reasonably clean you might get 6 months out of a filter.

Is it harder to seaon stainless steel than cast iron?
I have been told you will not get a good s see ason on a good SS skillet because there is no pores in the metal for the seasoning to adhere too.
If you can infact season SS I learned sumtin this morning
That makes sense. The seasoning on my skillet is now as smooth and hard as glass, NOTHING sticks to it.

Yes, absolutely Rosemary ! But use fresh sprigs to flavor the butter that you spoon over the steak . Not the dried kind.

Yes Sir! Try it! Its a whole new flavor. Make sure you use fresh, not dried.
I cant eat out at any steak places just because they don`t use rosemary and butter. Even if you ask them to, they won`t get it right anyway.
