Just some background on me. I have all my permits which allow me to have my handguns and long arms.
I bring this up because this afternoon I went to Nassau County Pistol & Rifle Range with two of my friends (who are NYC residents) to shoot my long arms with me. I had a Mossberg Scorpion, .22 Henry US Survival rifle and a Fightlite SCR with me.
I purchased time on a port with no problems but when my friends attempted to they were told that they also needed NYC Rifle/Shotgun permits in order to shoot my long arms.
One of the two had previously come with me to this range roughly three weeks prior with no issues.
The gentleman who was doing check-in/sales stated that NYC passed a new law today that all NYC residents now require a NYC Rifle/Shotgun permit to shoot long arms anywhere in the state if they reside in NYC.
This is a very odd occurance and my first time hearing of such a new law.
If it's legit/true I'm sure the events in TX and OH have everything to do with it.
Anyone have any information, confirmation or thoughts on this? Just because it's on printed on copy paper and being told to me by a clerk doesn't make it 100% accurate or true.
