I got it so I can install a Midwest Industries hanguard to proper torque specs. Hopefully it works well.

Awesome! I think the torque spec for the handguard was 40 in lbs and the FAT wrench goes up to 60 in lbs so I should be good to go there. Thing wasn't even all that espensive.

I've had one for years! When target shooting you want to find that sweet spot for the action in the stock!
I have one that came with the scope mount kit it work awsome.
I find that if I torgue things down in sets I get better results . 20 then 30 then 40. I've seen the guys at gun Stores just start at the max torque when doing scopes mounts..

I bought mine from my local Bass Pro Shop's, I use mine for mounting scope bases and other jobs that require a specified torque setting. Mine seems to work well for me. I think I read in the owners manual that you have to set the inch-lbs dial to zero after you use it, something about it effecting the spring / tension mechanism inside it. Everytime I use it I set it to the specified setting for application, and set it back to zero when I'm done, which is no biggy for me.

I can't remember where I seen it, but I think I seen a newer digital model with a digital setting & digital display for the inch-lbs setting somewhere online for those interested.
I just says to not store it at the maximum 60in-lbs setting or it will strain the internals. Zeroing it out when done with it seems like a sensible proceedure.

I've got one like this. Its a bit more sturdy feeling than the wheeler drivers. New they are crazy expensive (~$125) but can be found used for similar price to the ones above.

Having been into gunsmithing for 20+ years it's kind of ridiculous that I don't have one. Then again, I don't really do rifle actions and/or scope mounts because I don't do long range shooting. Doing mostly pistol work , and mostly trigger work in general, a torque accurizing driver doesn't come into play so much. It would have it's moments though for sure.

If you have a set up where scope/mount unit is shared between several rifles. Using torque wrench on the mount cross-bolts will help you maintain the same point of impact when returning the scope to a rifle. The same POI or very close to what it was.
