I rented a G19 a few days ago at a range I noticed as I drove by. It was a Gen 4 though.
The finger grooves exacerbate the Glock knuckle. And I by far prefer the Straight 8s of the stock sights. Trigger didn't seem different though.

I HATE the finger grooves I cant wait to send my new frame off for them to get removed and the double undercuts.

And yea I am going to be that guy who has the stock sights on for a bit. I have some nice Wilson combat Vickers elite battle sights. But they are on my G17 and my local shop would switch them over but dont have a way to sight them in is I'm just going to handle the stock junk until u send the slide out for an RMR

I know they have been out "for some time", doesn't change the fact that they are ugly.

Honestly the 19x "color scheme" is actually really nice looking, if it was that shit but just you know a 19 and then get some nice frame and slide work done they can be nice looking

Hmnn. Now that I have had one in my hands for a while now I would agree that they are plain. However I can appreciate the clean, utilitarian lines of the thing, nothing there that doesn't need to be. Also the roll marks are extremely sharp and clean. Many such marks on other manufacturers guns are varying degress of cratered around the edges but on the Glock they are perfectly flush. The fit and finish is tighter than on my PPQ too.
I take issue however with both the Glock magazine and the Glock magwell. The cutout in the front and the partition in the back of the magwell will catch on the hard edges on the magazine causing hangups on the reload.
The PPQ has a very slight bevel in its magwell but more importantly the magwell is smooth as are the magazines, reloads in the Walther are hard to fuck up. But the Glock shoots very flat and I really appreciate that. Honestly between the two I don't really have a preference shooting wise. The G19 conceals under a loose T shirt for my though and that is the biggest thing for me.
