Dude open carrying. nobody freaked out!

Well, whatever. I'm still miffed that criminals get to carry however they want, wherever they want and without a permit.

Tomorrow will be an open carry day, I have a lot of places to go and will have to see if my revolver jumps out on it's own and shoots somebody.

I'll bet 10 to one that it stays in it's leather holster all day and enjoys the sunshine.

Just in case you better give it a benedryl or two so it's at least groggy and iF it tries to jump out you should be fast enought to catch it!!!

then again all groggy like that it may just shoot your balls off.............

Is there a point to open carry?

If I could carry I would always conceal. If someone were to come into a place of business with the intent to kill and I had a gun on my hip as an open carry I would probably be the first target. If I had it concealed I would have an opportunity to protect myself and family. I feel like it would be a huge target on my back in a circumstance like that.

Both don’t get me wrong but I thought the purpose of carrying was to protect yourself. I feel like you are just putting yourself at risk if you have it out in the circumstance stated above.

Most people dont notice shit around them, hell I'm pretty sure people that plan to rob or shoot up a place just do a quick look if that and then storm in trying to use as much overwhelming force to gain the upper hand. And in that moment I am almost certain they wont be like oh shit the guy in isle 3 has a gun on his hip. Tunnel vision

I guess it’s circumstancial. I mean even if it’s a 1% chance that I’m at checkout and the gunman comes in and sees it I would rather have my firearm concealed. I can agree with your statement

I agree with you @GlockDJM . If I was a criminal going into 7eleven to rob the place and had no regard to human life when it comes to not getting caught, if I saw an open carrier on line, I'd deal with him first either by killing him or getting the drop on him and disarming him first if I felt like not ending his life.

Open carry is a very big disadvantage and it's the reason Federal Air Marshals carry concealed and are not uniformed. Any open carrier can get overwhelmed in a confined space even more so if he's not paying attention or his or her hands are full waiting in line at the register with people behind him or her.

Most people dont pay attention and rarely notice anything. Most criminals are stupid and you would have to be in a position where your strong side it pointed at the criminal. 50/50 on those odds. So to me carry how you want, it your life, your choice.

I agree. I think there are defiantly 2 sides to the argument. I guess it’s just personal preference but I am with you. I don’t see a point in chance. Yea it’s a small chance that a deranged maniac comes in blazing guns.

That’s why you don’t see off duty PO’s walking around with their badge on their chest.

Hell, most of the ODLEOs i know don't even carry off duty.
