It is typical of reporters and/or law enforcement to troll a gun forum with an off the wall question on their screen name's first post, which is why you got the reaction you did.
I do not tell anyone I am carrying in this state. Just mind your Ps and Qs and you should not have an issue. In 2018 you won't have to worry about such things, your pistol license is going to be tied to your drivers license number so you most likely will be asked if you have your "glock" with you today when the LEO fist approaches your vehicle.

My permit shows through the clear plastic part of my wallet for whatever the situation..buying gum, buying clothes, buying a house, mailing a package..everyone sees "full carry pistol permit" and that's the way I like it. My driving license is under that and under the PBA card. In 30 years I've been driving and 24 of them carrying I've been pulled over 2 times and never said a word about what and where I'm carrying, but they already knew that by my bumber license plate they ran sitting behind me, than the permit handed over with the DL license when he's at my window..if they wanna ask they'll ask.

I'm not sure how they would know you had a permit by running your plate. The permit info will likely be tied to your driver's license, not your vehicle registration. They don't know who is driving the vehicle, only who it is registered to.
As far as telling or not, I, personally don't have a problem with telling them first. I would rather they knew than for them to find out through some unforeseen event and taking protective action.

I generally don't get pulled over. I don't inform unless they want to yank me out of the car. That hasn't happened since I was 17.

I stood behind a .50 Cal for way too many miles in Iraq and fell in love with it's destructive force. In my opinion it's the best weapon system out there. If you haven't shot one, you're missing out.

In Oregon my permit was tied to my ODL and everytime I got pulled over ( I had a lead foot in my younger days) in Oregon the officer asked, "Mr. DSDMMAT are you carrying your pistol today?" As soon as they run the license plate they are notified who it is registered to and that they have a CCP. Once they approach and you hand them your license ( that is the first thing I do before even saying hello officer) they know who you are and you are a Concealed Carrier.
If it makes you feel any better, I'm usually pissed off by everyone all of the time.

It's not bitching, and if you're interpreting it as such, then maybe it strikes a cord with something. It is only pointing out a newcomers activity which is against the grain, or normal interaction with newcomers. Most, usually don't come onto a forum as you have and ask such succinct questions straight up, let alone absent an agenda. Seen it too many times. And then they disappear, lending even more weight to suspicion as to their intent. Your multiple responses regarding the issue of proper introduction and first post leads to some question as to why this is an issue for you. It was replied to nicely early on and my comment was benign, your response escalating it to "Bitching" is unfounded.
You said you don't say "HI" on the street... Well, if you walked up to me and blurted out a question without a proper introduction I would redress you as simply as I have done here. If you stomped your feet because I didn't answer your question, I would then tell you to go "Piss Off"...
Don't take it personally, but simple courtesy is something which creates acceptance and allows someone to encroach upon another's personal space. People forget, interacting on the Internet is not much different than what happens in person, but because they're insulated and anonymous, they feel social norms don't apply. They do... But your question has been answered kindly. There's nothing wrong with asking questions, not at all. The manner in which it is asked is another thing entirely. I hope you can understand the difference and move on.

As a instructor with one of the groups that give the Basic Pistol License Class here in Saratoga County, this is something we do go over in class. There are also a few app's for CCW that you can download to a smartphone that are helpful thou maybe not 100% updated?

I see you're from Roc. Good group out there. Even meets for lunch once a month.
It's probably because I just got off 72 hours of work in 4 days and only slept a few hours, but some people just annoyed the shit out of me. For the most part people around here seem cool and willing to help but there always seems to be that one asshole.
