Lie is a lie. Trump promised to defend the 2nd and didn't. So yes I think he failed on his promise to uphold the constitution.
Did I vote for him because there is more to American than just the 2nd, yes.

There are a number of people on this forum that argued that because of the bump stock incident that Trump was just as bad as Biden for the 2A.
While I will not defend the bump stock shenanigans, it is *not* even in the same league as what Biden wants to do.
It's roughly like saying OJ Simpson was just as evil as Jack the Ripper, since they both killed people.
These are people who, even if they knew their vote could have swung the outcome from Biden to Trump, would *still* have voted for a third party.

I'm sure the Dems would love that. If the nation is hypothetically split 50% Dem-50% Repub, and Dems stick together, then the two parties making up the non-Democrats can never get to 50%, let alone a majority. So, Dems would sweep everything. Ergo...colossally bad move.

There are people like me who will call bullshit on anything. While I agree that biden is worse, I want my cake and to eat it to. I want someone that keeps their word period. I am tired of half truths and fake promises. I am ready to start voting people out of office because they promised to never wear blue and I saw they had blue socks on.
I want honesty, I have always lived my life as seeing everything in black and white. I want my politicians to start living the same.

I think you need to understand the distinction between the left not following the rules, and the right not following the rules.
We are in the situation we are in because the left has abandoned all pretense that there even *are* rules, but the right continues to follow them.
The left needs to be reminded why those rules exist, and the only way to do that is to demonstrate why they don't want to play without them.
Just a question, what violation of our morals and values by the right is it that you think led us here ?
Yet they consistently ignore the #walkaway movement, and consistently ignore all the Dems that are just as frustrated and pissed off at what the Democratic Party has become.
No, the split isn't even hypothetically 50-50.
What we need is someone who can grab the 70% of ex-Repubs, and grab the unknown % of ex-Dems, and unite them into a Party of the People and lay waste to this ridiculous power grab.

As I wrote, Progressives are doctrinal. Many Republicans in government are really Democrats. But, no Democrats are Republicans.
Dems leave areas that they've destroyed and then continue to vote Democrat. See: California, Colorado, Virginia, and North Carolina.
I've voted mixed ticket plenty of times. Depends on the people running for office. Sometimes I think the Democrat is better. Sometimes I think the Republican is better. Sometimes I hate both of them.
