What if I go to a restaurant or Bar and get put on a 'wait list' to get a table. I ave been known to wait 45 minutes for a table. No big deal, I just order a cocktail/Beer and enjoy my wait.

Do I have to order an appetizer now, with my drink order. Just so I can sit and wait for a table

Welcome to Utah! Out here, you get the privilege of paying for “beer buddies” which are tiny packets of peanuts or crap like that, if you just want a beer. Horrendously over-priced, they are surely a great profit-center for any bar.

Utah is one of the places I'm looking at to make my break from Fuacerland. I'll gladly support any bar in Utah over our supreme leader here.
It's not like the profit margins on beer, liquor and wine aren't eye watering but the taxes he collects from it and uses against our best interests is just an extra kidney punch or two.

If I go to a Deli and get a sub, do I have to buy a beer? What if they don't sell beer? Is it a felony to have a lite beer with a garbage plate? Modern gulag NY is so confusing!!!

It's a good bet. Most things in NY are felonies.

The most frightening aspect of the "new normal" is not how many unconstitutional laws our governor and the legislature is pushing. I expect that abuse from the autocrats. What scares me is how many Karens are reporting this "unlawful" activity and how many oathbreakers are enforcing it.

I have decided that I will not comply with this. It is touchy because the bartenders are just doing what they are told to do, but I am going to opt out of this one. If they want to give me a pretzel rod, then so be it. If they want to push me to order, I will politely say "no thanks". If they insist I will ask them to call their manager or the owner over and I will explain to that person that I am not ordering food and they can ask me to leave if they must. I will be polite to everyone, because it's not their fault, but I will not be ordering food unless it's something I want to do on my own free will.

Update from the field:

A few places I’ve been to today have had displays of bags of chips and pretzels set out. Even so, I have not participated and nobody has challenged me.

Their videos are fun and quirky. They have locals from the Bloomington Indiana area participate in them. Some are literally side show freaks ( Blue Monkey Sideshow) . A friend of mine from Indiana made me aware of the band. They'll never be Queen or the like but they're fun to watch and their music is catchy. Some other tracks include " Poor until Payday " , " Pot Roast and Kisses", " We Deserve a Happy Ending" .

Once you start viewing music on Youtube, you never know what you'll find. I listen to a Norwegian band that does a lot of AC/DC covers with banjos and such ( Steve'n'Seagulls ) , a German polka band that does a great GNR " Sweet Child O' Mine " with brass instead of guitars ( Heimatdamisch ) . I like The Dead South , even though one of their songs is about banging your cousin ( Banjo Odyssey ).

How does this tie in to the topic on hand? ....um...In the GNR cover, a band member is seen eating a cold cut plate in a pub...

Now back to our regularly scheduled FUAC rant..

Hell I remember my Dad telling me that years ago that wings were free in bars! They were considered garbage food. Lol
