So, it's been about seven months since your interview?
Hold on, you're close. The average the last bunch of years is about 14-16 months. I have heard of 2 going over 18.

About 15.5 months here too. Hoping the typical seven month wait between interview and permit in the mail doesn't hold true. I'd be looking at November. Would be about 22 months total. I'd really rather not set a record for longest wait time.

Just called the PPO. Said they just got the application back from the police department last week. Took two weeks or so. Not too bad. She said it will likely be a couple months before they even send it to the judge. 
Then the judge will review it and send it back. She said I should expect about three months or so until I see it in my mailbox.... I appreciate the optimism, but there's no frigging way.
So my local PD sits on this thing for over a year, and every other person who submitted theirs around the same time or later basically leapfrogs mine and pushes mine back even farther. Man, what a fucking infuriating process.

I know, I practically am. Too hard to decide before feeling them all at the store. I've only been able to hold and shoot my friend's 5" XD 9mm so far.

Yeah that's such BS. They just lose yours in a paper stack for 5 extra months and you have no recourse. At least you know it's on the move now.

Fingers crossed for you. 3 months would be pretty damn sweet, but like you know it's purely a guessing game. I'm hoping to give them a call sometime soon and see what they tell me

Yeah that is a pretty cool deal they're running. I like the XD, nice grip, nice sights, tracks well. I did find it to be a bit flippy, but I don't have anything to directly compare it to.

Just another annoying thing about the whole process, not being able to use unless you know someone that will let you. Luckily I have quite a few buddies that let me.......vp9 felt real good too but still leaning to Springfield. Lol well so far. Seems to change day to day

Just got off the phone with the PPO. Pretty much the same timeline of 3 months. Looks like west Seneca sent ours back together.

I didn't mean it like "glad I'm not the only one waiting forever", I meant I was glad I wasn't the only one confused about how her timeline was going to work. The only way her timeline would work is if the judge signs and sends it the same day he gets it, and even then it would be a long shot.

Still amazing that it takes less time,-much less, to create a life and deliver it into the world.
Can't really say about bringing it into the world, but it only takes me about one minute to create a life
at least I get 5 pumps out of my mossberg.

Just an update, but not for me. A friend of mine is an Erie county sheriff. He submitted his pistol permit application not even four months ago, and he just received his unrestricted permit in the mail last week. Funny how that works.
Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for law enforcement, but it just goes to show the disparity between the common man and police when it comes to this stuff. To be honest I find it laughable that law enforcement officers even have to apply for a permit. Seems like it should be something that would be mandated as soon as they get hired. He's been on the job for well over a decade.

I brought this up in the old forum. I happen to know a couple key people and had mine in 8 months. That's not to say there isn't a huge back log in erie county, but things can be done faster when they want.
