Until it isn't.At work I deep carry a Walther PPS 9MM in a Smart Carry with an extra 7 round mag in the pouch too. Outside of work, I appendix carry my M&P Compact in my Smart Carry with an extra 10 round mag in the pouch and another in my front right change pocket in the bigger pocket or my M&P appendix in a kydex holster along with a mag in a horizontal kydex mag carrier with another mag in my front right pocket.
58? Never said that. If I carry the Walther, I have 14 rounds total and if I carry the M&P, I either have 21 or 31 rounds total. What's with the "add you to the ignore list..again"? When did you do it the first time man? I'm hurt.I dearly hope /sarc was meant to follow that 2nd half of the post..or maaaaaan I gotta add you to the "ignore" list..againain't no body but a swat team needing 58 booolits to go get a gallon of milk..although I truly believe apparently some of you do
hehehehehe

"Any responsible firearms or CCW instructor in the private sector, like any good law enforcement trainer in a police academy, will recommend the carry of spare ammo. One reason is that, quite simply, the defensive handgun is emergency safety/rescue equipment, and redundant capability must be in place in case it fails. With the semi-auto pistols most widely used today for defensive purposes, malfunctions are most often traced back to defects in the ammunition or in a gun’s magazines. For many stoppages, which prevent the gun from working, the quickest and simplest lifesaving fix is to clear out the ammo and magazine in the gun, reload and carry on. - See more at: Massad Ayoob: Carrying Spare Ammunition for Self-Defense"

Oh, ok. I'm happy again.I guesstimated 50ish by those words above..I apologize.
Aaaand you'd never be my ignore list maaaaan, I'm just crackin sak![]()
Now that's a commitment.
I do carry a spare in my cargo pocket usually. I have thought of getting a mag holder, but just have not done it yet. I will because I want one for a mag and another space for a flash light. You should carry an extra mag. I always do. Always.
Fix a flat with a spare..not 30
13 years of homeownership and no fire..bad analogy..fire extinguishers are definitely important and could be needed any day..
22 years concealed and zero shots, God forbid bad guy tried to take your wallet, 1 maybe 2,3 shots needed..Still don't need 21 spread out into 4 lbs and 3 magazines going to the A & P..
Trump flag* and shirt*First the Trump shirt at school, now calling you out. He's crazy I tell ya.

Has it been the same magazine, with the same mag spring too, in all those 22 years?
By the same logic one could question the need to carry a gun at all. Now what you do and do not carry is your choice but how hard is it to carry an extra mag?22 years of concealed carry..zero shots shot. 7 in the magazine does me(and every other human I know that carries and never needed to use any) juuust fine..
So, based on your data, 0 rounds is just fine.22 years of concealed carry..zero shots shot. 7 in the magazine does me(and every other human I know that carries and never needed to use any) juuust fine..

What if 3 people rob you. Logic would say they would run, but you just never know. To each their own though. You never know. If that logic works for you then why not leave your gun at home too and save more weight. Not trying to be a jerk just saying.Fix a flat with a spare..not 30

Or mags either. My revolver doesnt accept clips
Easy now, nothing personal. In a "typical" defensive scenario you'll do an unaimed mag dump at point blank range and if that doesn't stop the attacker then you won't likely have time for a reload anyway. However in the case of multiple attackers, which is not an uncommon occurrence among defensive shootings again, you'll likely dump the mag in the first guy and if the others haven't fled your caught with your pants down big time. Now I'm not trying to convince you, you've made your decision and I respect that even if I don't agree, but to others who may be reading this to formulate their own opinion I say this: An extra mag, particularly if it's for a single stack subcompact is not going to weigh you down, find a good mag caddy that works for you and you won't even notice it's there, its cheap insurance. Now I only carry one extra mag, I find the extra bulk of a double mag carrier to be a little too bulky, and I don't like to carry mags in the pocket for the reasons I mentioned earlier.Yes yes yes to everyones "what ifs" this is a personal decision and I go about my day the same as I have. You guys are comfortable carrying all the extra weight and extra "needs", I'm comfortable carrying my 7 in my magazine and pocket space. This, as everything in life, is a each to his own. Yes that moment of 3 or more guys attacking me is what it will be, my few shots better be on, if they're not, my next few better be on, if they're not, oh well...
If I do get a shoulder rig for the PPQ, in that case I would be carrying the two mags. 46-50 rounds of 9mm? Now that is some significant defensive potential!
Probably won't is not the same as never will. Also in the case of the shoulder holster the weight of the mags counterbalances the weight of the gun, and there is plenty of room for them there so really it would be counter productive to not have em. Again for me extra mags is a matter of having much improved capability for minimal penalty. I wonder how the stats for defensive reloading breaks down? I'm sure it happens.Yes, but as you have pointed out; if you can't reload what good is it? Just saying..
