All the evidence you show relates to the immediate distance the "droplets" of unspecified size travel.

None of it addresses the *eventual* area they cover, which is the only thing that matters.

If it just gives you a 5% lower chance of infection in 1% of your encounters with an infected person, why bother ?

If you were going to wear body armor, would you wear a 2" circle of ar500 that only covered vitals if the attacker was firing from a balcony on your left ?

If it's worth wearing a mask for, then you wear a real respirator. If you can’t be bothered with a real respirator and the proper disinfection protocol every time you take it off, then you're not serious about the mask wearing and are just virtue signalling.

If I do not get infected because I wore a mask and an infected also wore a mask and I stayed distance away from him and didn’t get infected, it’s a 100 percent chance that I will not infect my wife or my coworker who will in turn not infect his wife who will in turn affect their 80 year old parents?

Or should we go by your numbers and just not wear one, remain close to infected, and infect those around us who will in turn infect those around them and so on and so? Or should we try to do our best and not get infected?

Let all the people in the waiting room get infected so that they can infect the little old lady who came in for knee pain.

Let’s all make it to where it’s the maximum percentage of likelihood for infection. No reduction whatsoever.

I'll regress to the earlier posts, whereas it is a problem when the State Executive Branch of Gov't, believes they have a right to issue edicts and decrees beyond the legislature and in effect, seize powers not belonging to them! The sorry state of affairs then is that the masses, or general public which includes commercial enterprise, interpret this as the "LAW" when it is not!

Being "Told" or "Ordered" to do something, certainly isn't the same as being asked or informed!

Freedom of choice of action is an entirely different and separate conversation!

Back to the Gov't... So for a funny little label "SAFETY" we see the govt take powers not belonging to it. Those of us exercising ng our 2A Rights here in NY have seen this shit show before! So, largely ignored, and then after dipping their toes in the water with seeing no major public resistance, they jump full in the pool and get crazy! Insane even...

And it's all a cluster fuck! No major protocols issued, still even for schools, each doing their own thing, their own programs. Private schools, public schools, colleges, etc., then throw in businesses, essential businesses and workers! There is absolutely no consistency across the divide!

So yeah, you want to argue about the effectiveness of masks, how obtuse to the problem!

The OP here, it is about masks, kind of but not really. The OP references similarities between the story, 451 and current conditions being pushed by the Government and the effects this push has on the Citizens.

It is getting old real fast the twisting of every thread into droplets and usefulness of masks.
