Stores cannot get disinfectant sprays or even Clorox to sell to its patrons. I suspect it is all going to the front lines like hospitals to protect those that are dealing with this directly. Is it a government mandate? I don't know, but suspect it is so, or at least, pressure is being applied.
My problem with this is that putting all the ammo at the front is not how wars are won and like many instances in the past, when this is over, and it will be over, we will find tons and tons of Clorox and disinfectants piled in hospital, and urban owned parking garages, sitting un-used. Central planning is not the right maneuver.

This is the problem with the price gouging laws.

You think that means the guy selling water for $50 and gas for $10 will have to sell for a reasonable price.

But it doesn't.

It means he's going to stay home, and you won't be able to get those things at any price.

If I need gas for my generator to keep someone's oxygen concentrator running in a disaster I really do want someone there selling it for $10/gal. I do not want him to just stay home because there isn't enough profit in it for him to bother.

The cost is what all of these companies (and schiesters) were paying a few weeks ago, which apparently included enough of a profit margin that no one was complaining. It’s artificial.

If 3M can’t get the material necessary for production, then the price naturally goes up. If hospitals can’t get 3M’s products because Schlomo got them first and hid them in Brooklyn, then the FBI comes. That’s reality, not some fantasy world of online discussion.

These masks cost 60 cents normally for one. At a 700 percent markup they cost about $4.20 per mask. I would absolutely pay 25 bucks for 5 masks if I wanted one. I do not see a problem with that. That’s supply and demand.

Years ago I bought a Keltec KSG for $1500 bucks from gun broker when they first came out. Why? Because I really wanted one. And if all shit went to hell and I really needed a 12 gauge, I would pay $3000 bucks.

So, back in the 1950's, Congress passed and the President signed the Defense Production act.

This is what is being used to slow the issue of serious hoarding and price gouging.

I am on no side of this. I personally don't care either way. I have other things that I find more important to be concerned about.
