Now that Russia has been isolated from natural gas sales, the European Union needs the supply of all other natural gas markets in order to keep itself from freezing to death. Simultaneously, natural gas as an energy resource is now bad, terrible like oil and coal, amid the climate change cult.

So, they need to change the narrative and stop people from using natural gas appliances.

Suddenly, after generations of natural gas appliances existing in almost half of the kitchens, suddenly the appliances are toxic, dangerous and likely to require a ban against use.

Feds Consider Ban on Gas-Powered Stoves to Address Pollution Problem​

Natural gas stoves, which are used in about 40% of homes in the US, emit air pollutants such as nitrogen dioxide, carbon monoxide and fine particulate matter at levels the EPA and World Health Organization have said are unsafe and linked to respiratory illness, cardiovascular problems, cancer, and other health conditions, according to reports by groups such as the Institute for Policy Integrity and the American Chemical Society.” Bloomberg reported.
Lawmakers have weighed in, asking the commission to consider requiring warning labels, range hoods and performance standards. In a letter to the agency in December, lawmakers including Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey and Representative Don Beyer of Virginia, both Democrats, urged action and called gas-stove emissions a “cumulative burden” on Black, Latino and low-income households that disproportionately experience air pollution.

Anyone who has a gas stove is well aware of some of the dangers. I live in a large apartment complex and at least once a week someone from the maintenance crew has to come by with a detector because another resident might have left their stove on. This could be disastrous and deadly if an open flame is nearby. Leaving the gas on could also cause carbon monoxide poisoning.

From the article. The author is a bullshit artist. Most apartment complexes don't have gas piping to apartments because it's an added cost to construction. Then he states once a week maintenance crews go around with a detector, he obviously lives with morons assuming there is gas in his complex. I'm thinking the complex is in his head. This guy will be called to testify and others will quote his article as factual.

We need everyone on electric for everything, including the Rich and Famous, so when there is a Blizzard, tornado, hurricane, flood, etc all can suffer for the good of the rest of the world. I THINK NOT.

That guy lives with a bunch of idiots if that happens on a regular basis. I imagine that if his building has gas appliances, it is an older building. I haven't seen anything built after the 60s with anything but electric. Electric lines are much easier to run, maintain, and replace. As has been said, cost is the major factor.

I myself would prefer a gas cooking stove. Instant on, instant off, even heating to name a few benefits.

Forge record, I'd like to see the fed banned from proposing things.

I prefer cooking with gas..will never own electric. I will pull the big ole cast iron cook stove from our camp and cook with that. It is wood and takes longer, but works well. I think gun owners are the best at finding loopholes and tricks around their useless laws.

Mine does. Mine is the exact situation this author is in, and rarely does this ever happen. In the nearly 8 years I've been there, only on one occasion did a gas crew even have to come on-site for more than a minute to tell people everything was fine. There was one leak in 8 years and they had a ton of inspectors on that shit to make sure everything was by the book by EOD. Very professional, quick, on top of shit. And every unit here has their own shutoff right before the stove.

Point being it's a non issue, and there are hundreds of gas stoves in this place if not more.

Are they going to ban gas grills next?

I have an induction stove. It is the safest stove I have ever used. You can place a piece of paper in between a pot and boil water on it and it doesn't burn. I've demonstrated it before to lots of people. They think it's witchcraft. It's also instant temperature control. Elements cool off within 5-8 minutes -- most of the time it doesn't get hot enough to really burn you. Overheat protection, and a bunch of other stuff it detects.

However, during the winter or power outages I simply resort to the woodstove for all my cooking needs. Works just dandy.

Maybe it's because they can turn off electric on a whim. More control. Got to be an ulterior motive imo. Benevolence is not something I equate with government.
