Restaurant Owner and Chef Blast Biden Admin Idea to Ban Gas Stoves, Would 'Destroy Industry'​

Not only do millions of Americans have gas stoves but so do most restaurants all over the country. Stratis Morfogen, a New York restauranteur, explained to Tucker Carlson that after all the setbacks the restaurant industry has been faced with over the past few years with COVID and inflation, this would “destroy our industry.”
“They want to make us, for new restaurant construction, use electric stoves. So let me explain it to you. We lose 40% productivity by using electric,” Morfogen said. [….]
With electric stoves, first of all, our bills will go six times higher. And then on top of that, our productivity drops. This isn’t just going to hurt the restaurant hospitality industry. It’s going to hurt real estate development,” he told host Tucker Carlson.

“You remember casinos, shopping malls, airports, residential towers, office buildings. They depend on us for the content. And if we don’t develop the content for these big, you know – this is our industry – for these big developers. Well, guess what? This whole thing will collapse.”

Gas-Stove Bans Are Starting to Look Racist​

The Los Angeles Times, with Korean BBQ on the brain, recently published candid quotes from Asian restaurateurs concerned that any switch to electric would compromise their cuisine. To some, electrification is assimilation:

Leo and Lydia Lee, owners of RiceBox, a Cantonese BBQ restaurant in downtown Los Angeles, use gas to cook the entirety of their menu, with the exception of rice. Gas powers the stoves used to cook dishes in a wok and the custom barbecue oven used to prepare the restaurant’s signature char siu Duroc pork, roasted low and slow with a sweet honey glaze.
“The wok itself is really essential to Asian cuisine,” Leo said. “By taking gas away, you’re telling us we cannot use woks anymore, essentially taking away our identity and heritage. It forces us to adapt to American culture.”

This is Los Angeles, and some chefs are conflicted, torn between wanting to combat climate change and stay true to their culture.

From the article. The author is a bullshit artist. Most apartment complexes don't have gas piping to apartments because it's an added cost to construction. Then he states once a week maintenance crews go around with a detector, he obviously lives with morons assuming there is gas in his complex. I'm thinking the complex is in his head. This guy will be called to testify and others will quote his article as factual.

He also claims leaving the gas on will lead to carbon monoxide poisoning.

That was true with town gas 100 years ago. Town gas was manufactured from coal and was near 50% carbon monoxide.

Nautral gas doesn't have CO in it. It's mostly methane.

I think I was 5 years old when we moved to a new house in FL. I'd never seen an electric stove before and could not understand how a glass countertop could possible cook food, so I put my hand on the burner and turned that sucker on. Then I howled and my Mom cut a leaf of aloe to soothe the burn. Funny how I never wondered about how hot a gas stove was. As I recall, Mom hated that stupid thing too - burner was always too hot or not hot enough.

Last year, whorchul wanted to ban wood fires stoves/fireplaces, and now the WEF/One world order wants to ban gas fired stoves. this has nothing to due with climate change or global warming or whatever the flavor of the day is
so lets look at what's going on:
1) you must buy and electric car
2) you will stop using wood fired appliances
3) you will stop using gas fired stoves and buy electric

whats next, your gas fired dryer. Your Gas fired water heater, and last but no least, your gas fired furnace.

what will happen? everything will stop. As anyone with a half a brain knows ( except, every liberal ) the grid can't handle this kind of load. the grid isn't going to be able to handle this kind of load in 30 years.
If your home has a fast charger for a EV, (230v- 60 amp) Electric stove, (240v-30 amp), electric water heater (230v 30amp) electric stove (230v-30amp), electric dryer (120v--20 amp), electric a/c (230v-30 amp)

your kids need to shower, while the dryer is running, the wife is cooking, the a/c is running, and your charging your car, multiply that by 100M house holds.........boom. No one, is going anywhere. And that's assuming your social credit score is immaculate.

and that's assuming the government doesn't just shut your power off, or start rolling blackouts. BECAUSE the grid sucks

We are fully electric at my place.

Only because we live somewhere that full solar is feasible, and we don't need heat.

We have 200A service, and use every bit of it.
