2017 was denied and put my appeal in. 1 year and 3 months later I was still on appeal. Finally had enough and contacted Faso’s office. 10 days after speaking with them, had my permission slip back and a UPIN . Magically fixed everything in 10 days.
Now that he’s gone , I’m sure his replacement, Delgado, would be more than happy to help anyone out with the same issues!!
On a side note , my last purchase, with a UPIN , was denied. Appeal only took a week because it’s done online now, but it is definitely not a cure all.
One other thing, when I get my Appeal certificate back, my FFL tells me he has to run it again , even though it says right on the certificate that it only has to be done if 30 days have past. This was before the new law was passed.

I can see where this would satisfy federal regulations as the first check does that but how does an FFL legally transfer to the second check? Seems the FFL would be taking a chance of being looked into by the state and subjecting himself to a violation and court proceedings. Why would an FFL subject himself to being a test case in a biased NY judicial system. This may seem reasonable to us but remember this state does not run on reasonable common sense.

I should be a Paulson, when my Great Grandfather came to Ellis Island, he was told there were too many Scandinavian names coming in. He chose the Family Farm name to be his surname. Kind of cool; my last name is also the name of a decent size town in Denmark.

That would require lying on the 4473. Each question on that carries a 10 year felony. However illegal immigrants are above the law so it probably does not apply to them.
I was adopted by a couple of very, very Swedish parents. All their relatives had thick Swedish accents.....but they are all dead now. My parents are in their 80s.
Ironically when I did a DNA test I found I was 50% Scandanavian, 47% Native American and 3% Asian.
So, pretty much 50-50 Scandanavian and Native American which would also account for the Asian.

I had a similar situation but after 2 years 7 months I contacted Trump and had my appeal granted paper and my UPIN in about a week. Even had a follow up phone call from Trumps aide.
I got my rights back and UPIN in December of 2018.
Ive bought 4 guns sinse then and all proceeded within minutes.
Oh and, before contacting Trump I contacted my senator Catherine Young......absolutely no help.

People who find themselves in that situation repeatedly had best jump through the hoops to get a UPIN. It may not solve the problem completely, but it's a start. Also, you should have gotten a denial card from the FFL. Follow up and try to figure out why you're getting denied
