Fightlite/Ares SCR stock removal

Does anyone know how to take the stock off the Fightlite/Ares SCR?

I have looked on the web but there is no tear down video that covers the stock removal or any sites that I have come across.

Unlike the Remington 1100's (which has a slot in the nut so you can use a large flat head screw driver) the SCRs is a nut. A typical socket will not work since it's too thick. There is very little space inside of the stock.

Beat it against a rock. It will come off.

Remove butt plate should be standard hex bolt screw I think with a little modification and a dermal anything possible disassembly instructions should be in the owners manual


Could also have a torx head bolt screw

I have no problem getting the back plate off but the large nut inside the stock is what I can't get off because the inside is too narrow to get a standard socket in.

The manual has nothing about removing the stock.

Use light look inside could be some type of center hole torx or hex bolt

If you put a wood buttstock on, do the handguard too:

This handguard would look better with an SCR lower!

Well I had to go buy a thin walled 19mm deep socket to get that bitch out.

I'm not a fan over the wood handguard, I'm going poly but just a different stock. I have to bore the hole at the head of the stock some to make it fit. I'll be done shortly and post pictures.

Took a little bit of work, the front of the hole was too small so I had to bore it out a little and then I had to shave down the stump a few millimeters.

The carbon fiber look is OK, I chose the stock more for features and functionality. I'm hoping to soon buy a .458 SOCOM upper for this. The extra padding and shock absorber will be an added help for this since I cannot have a muzzle brake to help with the recoil on that round.

Perhaps I can look into getting some cerokote done.

Straight stock in that video looks awesome. Love the wood, it's a nice change and is reminiscent of a WW2 carbine, to me. Ideas, ideas.
