Fired the Gen 5 G19

Not a big deal but finally got a chance to fire a Gen 5 Golck 19. Not having the finger groves was nice but I didnt care for the front cutout on the grip. The trigger did feel a little better, it was very crisp. All in all its a Glock. If I owned a gen 4 I wouldnt dump it buy I would grind the finger grooves off for sure. Lefties will like that it is ambi but doesent matter to me.

May it serve you well. I just recently won a certificate for any Glock at a recent GSSF match in New Smyrna FLa and as soon as I returned to Home I order a G17 Gen 5 I was going so close to ordering a 19 as I never have owned one but I figured I could always use another G17 .

Yeah, I'm gonna give one of these a shot. Glock, you will have yet another chance with me, its seems I just can't resist Glock's inexorable pull in the marketplace. Its the Ruger PCC that is tipping me over the edge. I wanna get a 19 and compare it to the PPQ at the range. I love the PPQ, a lot, but if I can shoot at least as equally well with the G19 I will sell the PPQ. I've no reason to keep two compact size poly striker guns.

What do you think of the notion, espoused in some circles, that these Roland Special type G19s will end up replacing G34s and the like in competitons?

I don't know much about the Roland specials, but if their site radius does not match the 34 then I think they would have a problem.

But the cost sometimes overruns the value of what is meant to be a utilitarian tool. That Roland Special costs $2,300 for example. But I do think there is more value in that one than the Gucci Glocks from companies like ZEV, Agency Arms and ect.

So fun fact Agency Arms just came out with their compensator (designed for carry) but one of the fun features is that it has a spot to put the front sight post.

So why is this interesting. Well with a compensator like that it takes a G19 and makes it about the length of a g34, but tanks to that you don't have a g34 slide but g19 sight radius
