So, I have been using the Elliptical for quite some time. Knees are beyond decrepit. About two weeks ago, I decided to switch over to the treadmill. After building up to it, I ran today for six miles. I did an average of an 8.5 min mile. Not too bad
I was bored tonight, went to the gym and ran for 56 minutes. Sat in the steam room and just chilled, Played Angry Birds as I soaked up the steam.
This is one of the main reasons why I've built up my own home gym. I don't have to wait for anybody.Well went back to the gym half of last week since I still felt like crap but today I’m all good and had a great workout. What I don’t get it how do people use these machines the wrong way. Like it’s supposed to make their workout better. Like using a lay pull down machine for triceps while standing up???? There’s a tricep machine right next to it wtf?
Sorry I just hate waiting to use something someone has no idea to use and is wasting both our time. I guess they’ve seen that kinda stuff online and thinks it’s cool, whatever.
There are tons of things you can do at home for legs. Of course having some good machines does make it easier but you could get really inventive at home. That's how I did it before I bought a power rack. I would do a lot of one-legged stuff. I would find something heavy enough to hold in my hand and do one legged stand-ups using a chair. You can do walking lunges while holding something heavy even a bucket full of water can work for resistance.Damn hopefully it heals up soon. I can do most of my workout at home but don’t have anything for legs.

So my wife and I bought a bow-flex max trainer. I like it because it was elliptical plus compact. So I have been able to use it twice because 4 weeks ago I fell on black ice and now I need an MRI.
But my diet has been going well, I slowly been removing any foods that are high in sugar. My goal has been to consume less than 30g of sugar per day. Meaning no pop, no sweets. I went to the Dr. yesterday for my knee and happy when weighed. I was 248lbs 5 months ago last weighted. I am down to about 242lbs now. So really I am attempting to make a lifestyle change over a long period to help remove and keep off the weight, so that it just doesn't all come back like in the past.
I really hope my knee isn't too serious as I would like to start my cardio training soon. My goal is to get back down to 200lbs but really I would love to be in the 190lbs range.
This is 100% spot on. I have been lifting since I was 13 years old, I’m 41 now and this is something I wished I would have learned early on. I used to think I could eat anything because I workout so much, but then would get frustrated that I couldn’t lose the last of the belly fat, or my chest wouldn’t get cut. Diet, diet, diet is the key. I can’t tell you how much my results improve when I’m careful about my diet. If you stuff your face with garbage, your results will be garbage and you will probably feel like garbage, regardless of how much you’re working out.Diet is more important than exercise. Both though are needed.
I would hope so. Cant be having flabby cops around here.We are getting older each day. It gets tougher to lose the weight. Slow and small gains. Patience is important. I have lost a bunch of fat/bad weight and have made some really great muscle gains. Diet is more important than exercise. Both though are needed.
Short term loss for a long term gain. It may suck now but you’ll be glad you did it when you’re healed up.
Good luck my friend! In hospital, nerve block and anesthesia kicking in. Be back later.
