When it comes to fixed mag options what would you say is the best option?

For what gun? A shotgun? AK? AKM? AR15? AR10? Mini 14? M1A?
if you are talking AR15 as I assume most people are, the only fixed mag option that I have found to be useable is using a CompMag side loading magazine with it attached with a magazine lock

I thought there was a device for quick loading AR's with a fixed magazine, you know, for those of us behind that curtain of stupidity. Still, thankful for those innovative folks in free America. They were kind od pricey if I remember right, but the way things are going, cheap.

Get a mag lock like the Mean Arms or Prince 50 or DD's Ranch and a BF-10 speed loader. Use a Lancer mag. Do not use the Mean Arms loader. It sucks compared to the BF-10.

They are junk compared to the BF-10. I have both. Big difference in quality and the BF-10 doesn't send the BCG home when using it.
Funny I couldn’t get the BF loader to work and load all ten rounds. It would always drop one on the mag or leave it in the loader itself, but the MEAN loader worked every time. I guess I have a different opinion than you on the ejection port loaders.
BF-10 recommends Lancer mags. Also others but Lancer are their top recommendation. Just speaking to the actual quality and weight of the loader. BF-10 is much more substantial. Also I prefer the loading action using a full grip instead of a thumb.
Yeah, I tried it a couple of times then tossed it in the trash.

BF 10 doesn't look like the one I was thinking of. Hmmmmmm, There were guys here that tried it, liked it and recommended it. I don't remember the company but I do remember contacting them, they don't make it for 6.8, and don't make it for left handed guns.

I have never actually used the Mean Arm quick loader and BF-10. But from the design point view, BF-10 has the advantage over the Mean Arm one. Mean Arm loader has a lock piece for transport. You have to take the lock piece off before loading the magazine. BF-10 doesn't require any extra piece. This is why I chose BF-10. I plan to buy more and load them all the time. In reality, both may work well with certain types of magazines. I bought a Lancer magazine.
I've had issues with both. BF would not seat in a BCM ejection port. After lots of grinding and manipulation, still couldn't get it to seat properly (was hitting the case deflector). MA loader created a very nasty jam with the rear of the case getting jammed in the loader wedging the round. Had to basically cut it out of the loader. Will never use it again. YMMV

The BF 10 works great. You have to rock it into the ejection port like an AK or Mini14 mag using the muzzel edge of the ejection port as your pivot point. Then you need to be sure and really ram the rounds in. You grab the two tabs on either side of the loader and slam the rounds in. Then you can just knock the loader off and close the bolt.
I have nothing extra on my MA loaders. I load them at home, I load the gun with the MA loader when at the site without taking anything off,,,I go kill chucks. I use this thing once a week for at the least, the last 2 years. Chuck hunting then coyote/fox hunting. It works perfectly on either my 223 or my 204. Wish it worked for my 6.8.

I had a MA, I think it worked ok for what it was. I prefer the BF10, ymmv. For a mag lock, I use Allstar's SAFEmod. Just two screws in the release that prevent the button from being pressed. Simple to install.
Also note that compmag does not work well with all fixed mag solutions. For example they do not recommend the MA fixed mag solution.

We recommend either the All Star Tactical or the DD's Ranch maglocks. Be sure you do not tighten them down too much and be sure to test functionality of the firearm and the ability of the rounds to move freely through the magazine before using epoxy to seal the screw.

Fwiw, I never epoxied those screws. If it is ever inquired about by LE, I'll tell them I didn't know and thought that using a tool to install it made it permanent enough. Not like I keep tools w/ me all the time, right? Right...?

I'm sure someone could find this post and use it against me, but your words are what I'm basically going by. I haven't heard or seen that the fix needs to be permanent. Doing it w/ a tool seems good enough, and there's no case law regarding it anyway, so what can they say? It's fixed, therefor compliant.

Just get 2 lowers, that’s the conclusions that I’ve come to. One that’s NY compliant and another that is not and keep the regular one wherever you travel.

Eh, I prefer my $30 SAFEmod and my allen wrench. Cheaper and works just as well
