I never got a chance to go into the gun store before I left FL

Will go next time I am back there

Permit did arrive today however and is valid for 5 years.................no mention of "out of state" which is a surprise - thought they would have differentiated on the permit

Some forums say W - FL resident

Some forums say WY - non resident

and some places say the opposite - so no idea really

Incredible how easy and straightforward for a ccw in FL

Handed in my paperwork exactly 8 days ago - checked their online tracking system and permit was issued today - incredible

Arizona is better.

Sure, it took a couple weeks longer, but you can CC while you wait because constitutional carry.

They have enough of a class to satisfy reciprocity with almost everyone, but you don't actually need the permit. For in state use, it mostly just adds a few more places you can carry, and lets you skip the NICS check.

In general, CCing out here is like carrying a pocket knife in NY, with not much more requirements.

I watched a couple of videos on flying with them - hard case, locked, unloaded, trigger lock, no ammo, etc and in your checked bags...........all fully declared at check in

Unloaded and locked in a hard case yes. Trigger lock is not required and you can fly with ammo in your bag or with the firearm in the hard case if packed properly.

Oh and I recommend putting your name and cell # on the outside of the case, in case they need to contact you to open the case.

Got my renewal back today. I took about 3 weeks.
My lic# begins with WX and I have never seen one with "out of state" or "non-resident" on it.

I think the letters at the beginning of the license number identify whether in or out of state

Mines begins with W and yours with WX……….least that’s as much as I can figure out so far………..though I have also seen reference to WY

So honestly no idea

just a suggestion give the licensing agency a call and ask them .. and get a real answer

if that don't work .. do a FOIA request .
