I actually laughed out load reading a number of the bullet points. Some of these stories sound made up out of whole cloth to me. YMMV.

She a "born here" foreign import from India. She likes to wear her status as a "woman" of "color" on her sleeve; this is really important to her because she's brown, as if people who aren't brown don't find anything important about their heritage. She's a success story because her parents were hard working people of color in a racist nation, even though she says at other times that America is not a racist country. She likes to talk about how the cops were called on her father at a fruit/vegetable stand, and how sad it was. She made sure the Confederate flag disappeared from the SC capital, after she had previously supported the flying of that flag for years; seemingly to my mind she has no problem sticking her finger in the wind when it comes to preserving American history, or at least some of the bad parts that are just as important as the good parts IMO. She thinks people are mean when they talk about the illegals invading their own country, but says we must stop illegal "immigration" out of the other side of her mouth. She loves the "war" in Ukraine.

She's a Chamber of Commerce "republican." Interestingly, she served on the board of directors of Boeing after she resigned as Trump's ambassador to the UN. Boeing, like Lockheed Martin (and many other companies with huge, revolving lines of extended credit from FedGov) are the kinds of places ambitious politicians end up on their way up the food chain, as they work those contacts to provide for themselves opportunities for their own future, political or otherwise. Also, Boeing has a big presence in South Carolina, so do the political math on her getting on the board of directors there.

As far as the 2A goes, she likes to do photo shoots of herself shooting scary guns, and she has stated she has a SC concealed license. You've probably not heard much from her otherwise because she rarely talks about the 2A as far as I know or have found.

Here is one of the few a statements by her on the 2A:

"The right to bear arms was deemed so critical by our Founders that they spelled it out in absolute terms, and it is my belief that any governmental action that undermines that right is in turn undermining the very freedoms that built our great nation. I hold a Concealed Weapons Permit myself, and in this state we have issues that make it difficult for CWP holders to carry. On the other hand, here is an article that talks about how she was letting her administration illegally hold up the renewal of concealed permits in South Carolina, and that she tried to make the "gun lobby" shut their traps when they voiced opposition to what was considered an anti-First Amendment "ethics reform" bill:

My take on her is that she is a globalist, but do your own homework.

Regardless, she has a snow ball's chance in hell of ever living in the White House. I doubt anyone wants her as a running mate either.

ADDENDEM: Almost forgot this. Her "success" story as an "immigrant family of color" that had it hard is total bullshit. Her old man had a masters in biology before the family went to live in Canada so he could get his PHD. Nothing wrong with the fact that her parents were educated and hard working, but how much of a "success story" is she really with at least one parent with a PHD in a serious field of study and teaches at a college? And her mother grew up in a rich family in India, and had a law degree... LOL

"Well, if you can`t dazzle them with brilliance, then baffle them with bullsh*t."


Until people dig in, and do their homework about him. He`s a politician. Look into his late class of "friends". That says it all.
If he does run, i`ll hold my nose and vote for him, because the other side are pure communists. He`s the lesser of the 2 evils.

I agree 100%.
All i can add to it is, Florida was doing very well before DeSantis arrived. And that`s what people really fail to see.

DeSantis likes the spotlight, he`s got the same ego that trump has. Only difference between him an trump, is how the words come out of his mouth.

I wouldn't say FL is the same as before DeSantis. He has done a lot. I would say he has improved FL a significant amount.

Concealed carry without a permit is a very big step in the right direction, even if its not Constitutional Carry.

We should be seeing a 30-35 state majority of Constitutional Carry states within the next 5 years, at a guess. In reality, some states are already about as close or closer than Florida is.

It ought to be kept in mind that some states might retain concealed licenses while having open carry as the (long standing, by history and tradition) permitless option. Heller and McDonald upheld permits for concealed carry, and very pointedly stated that "open carry is the right that is protected."

My guess is that a lot of the bullshit in the worst states will be eventually struck down. but that depends heavily on the current makeup of the Court. It ought to be realized though that some states will almost certainly, and lawfully per Heller and McDonald, retain a permitting scheme for concealed carry.

However, a permit to conceal carry is one of the few things that states would still be able to get away if/when Bruen finally puts the kibosh on the illegal laws pertaining to Arms in the worst states. By the letter of these precedents, bans on Arms should disappear, as well as mag limits, accessories like stocks and grips, permits for ammo, and so on.

IMO this is where the "gun lobby" has made mistakes.

Going after NY in Bruen and now Bruen 2.0 was not the proper course IMO.

The NFA of 1934, the FFA of 1938 (creation of FFLs and the licensing scheme to sell or manufacture arms), the Gun Control Act of 1968, the terrible parts of FOPA of 1986, the Guns Free School Zone Act (1990), and the Brady Bill of 1993 (NICS checks, etc.), are the points of weakness and legal attack that would make the most difference.

Bruen is a strong ruling and takes even further along that Heller and McDonald in some ways. However, with the "incorporation" of Heller by the McDonald ruling, the real culprits are the vast, blatant, and obvious violations of the Second Amendment at the Federal level.

Strike those Federal laws, and most of the bullshit that states have pulled for a century or more goes bye bye, given that Heller and McDonald take an axe to not only most of the Federal authority on the books, but State authority as well via "incorporation" of the Second Amendment (even though I view the SCOTUS doctrine of "incorporation" as a power the Court was never granted under the Constitution nor by Federal law).
