I think that's pretty subjective, but I heard Victoria's Secret did a trans thing earlier this year. Didn't see it.
Gym teachers often "hang" around the locker room to ensure all are following the rules.
Male gym teachers being in the locker room is really not that unheard of.
I was a lifeguard for many years. I know about locker room inspections. I went in, checked for dead bodies and thieves, and left.
At no time did I monitor anyone undress.

That's beyond creepy. I totally get a gym teacher may be in a locker room as there may need to be an adult supervising to make sure there are no shenanigans, but ordered to watch that studennt undress is beyond creepy.
I get that in a messed up way the intent may be to ensure no one does anything to that transgender student, or the transgender student doesn't do anything to anyone else and if there were ever any fradulent allegations or attempted law suit the school can say "nope that didn't happen a school official he constant observation and the alleged incident dudnt happen" but how messed up is it that were to that point.

And I thought things were eF'd up in the 60's & 70's when we had atomic bomb drills in school. We had to cover our heads while hunkering down under our desk. Even then, as a kid I thought, this atomic bomb thing can't be that bad if all I have to do is cover my head under my desk to be safe.

Uh...perhaps if the school was concerned about the safety of female students who are undressed they should set aside a female-only area, some sort room perhaps, sort of like the boys' locker room, but for girls...they could call it the girls' locker room!

This is a group of kids in a school locker room. Also they didn’t say he stands there and watches regularly. The school ordered him to watch while she changed.
I would refuse as well. If she thinks she’s a he that’s fine give her a private locker room. It is not ok for a grown man to stand and watch a young lady change. I’d look into charges or an official misconduct hearing if this was my daughter or sons school.
How about we just don't watch kids change?
Side note, still don't understand the stigma relating to human anatomy in this country. Neither does this country.

My elementary school in the 80s still had these drills. We had a bunker under the school that we had drills where we all grouped up and went down there.
We went to school and had to prepare for the possibility of nuclear war . People today are complaining that their girl can't change in the boys locker room .
