Shot a deer at 30 yards with tje ps90 blue tip. Put a bigger hile than the 45acp hollowpoint.
I was cleaning the ps90 kill when the buck walked up (25 yd) and all i had nearby was the 5 inch colt.
Shot both double lung. Both took < 5 steps.
Get it!

I would not. Mainly because there is a lot of other stuff on my list. On technical merits, I'm not sold on the cartridge, its main reason for being is body armor penetration and the AP version of 5.7 is not avaliable for civilians so what are we left with? A light varmint cartridge that slots between .22 mag and .22 hornet. And all the pros are completely moot in NY. 20 round capacity is cool, but you can't have that. A pairing with the PS90 would be cool and would make an interesting survival combo, but the PS90 also is not NY legal. The 5.7 is an interesting gun but I think its upside will not be realized in a restricted state.
My brother has one and he likes it very much. Of course he lives in a free state and can have those evil high capacity 30 caliber clip 1/2 second shoulder thingies.
I built a bolt action in 5.7 it was a very fun gun to shoot. I made the mistake of letting my daughter shoot it and it now lives with her.
Okay, everyone will do as it pleases them and that's fine. The 5.7 in a bolt gun would be I fine varminter but I have to ask, why 5.7. What does it offer over a .22 mag or .22 hornet?

I wouldn't bother. Where would someone need a 5.7 pistol where they can't carry a rifle cartridge carbine? And for rifle power in a pistol what about the Ruger revolver that fires 30 cal?

If I could load more than 10 rounds legally I would consider it. If I am going to get a boutique pistol round it would be 357 sig.

I have an XD in 357 SIG with a Fire Dragon barrel and Tru Glo sights and I would say that's equal in accuracy to my Kimber Match and is extremely comfortable to hold and easy to break down. I'm surprised Springfield Armory doesn't sell a billion a year.
It is superior to the 22 mag, the 22H I am not sure about( never really looked at them). I reloaded for it already and It was something different. I already had an AR57 and it was the perfect companion gun for it. I like to have bolt guns in the same caliber as my semis. My daughter took the AR57 too, she could take advantage of the 50 round magazines that were available for the gun.

I would not. I see no practical reason for it. For me to spend that much on a gun I'd have to have something practical. I'd buy a nice 1911 instead. I'd use that and enjoy it much more.
