“Holy sh-t that’s rapid fire,” officer Cordell Hendrex utters in the chilling video, reacting to Paddock’s gunfire — which he later described as “like thunder all around and above us,” according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The officer and his first-day trainee, Elif Varsin, stayed on the 31st floor for four-and-a-half minutes, even as they heard the shooter’s position reported as “the 32nd floor, room 135.”

Shouldn't they work for the Coward County Sheriff in Florida? They have school safety jobs open.

As much as id like to say Id be a hero and run in and save the day, most people including myself don't know how they will react when metal meets meat. I can't blame somone for being scared, in fact if they are that scared they won't last long in a life or death fight. Once an incident like this happens they need to be removed from police work if they haven't quit already.

I agree with most of what you said. There are plenty of jobs as police they could do that wont not put them in These situations.

Also, this experience may be what they needed to perform better next time. How many military personal have trouble in their 1st firefight but soon develop the needed skills for upcoming ff?
