The court should never be divided. The only job of the SCOTUS is to look at what the constitution says, compare how words are used between cases, and take into consideration the context of literature during the time the amendment was made, in order to determine constitutionality.

The fact we have a divided court means that our politicians are not willing to use their two thirds voting powers to oust judges who don’t do their fucking job, and believe it’s up to them to add context that isn’t there.
