You might be surprised at how many others do as well in your church. I had no idea how many do at my church. I asked my pastor to write a recommendation letter for me to get my upgrade and he was pleased to do it. He also was pleased that I wanted to carry a gun at church. Since then I know of about 20-25 others that carry at my service alone. There are 3 other services. They ask me regularly to perform security for events.

My wife’s church has been armed. They offer a self defense coarse and once a year take people to the shooting range.

Yep we went and had firearms training close quarter combat training. We also had classroom training. Free paid for by the church. Then the place gave us 50% off another class.

I forget what we paid for her self defense coarse but it wasn’t bad. The shooting range useage was donated by the shooting range. Her pastor reminds me of a prepper. He is a good guy

Here's the email I just received last night from our security team leader.
Gentlemen
Tonight we had a young man who has been visiting the past few weeks inappropriately approach a young woman at church service and made strange comments to her. He also threatened Charles and the church when asked to leave so much that the Tn of Tonawanda police got involved.
Evans spoke to me about this guy and I since was able to get more info on him from a church he attended in the past. He threatened to kill the worship leader, went after the senior pastor, threatened to rape one of the young ladies, and other incidents. Oddly enough, a couple of months ago I was filling as worship leader one Sunday morning at this church and I was told much later that he was kicked out of the building again while I was leading worship. I had trained the safety team there a year ago so apparently they handled it so well very few, including myself, even knew about the incident.
He was told not to come back and the church even had a restraining order against him but he still would show up and walk around the outside and just stare. My contacts there believe him to be a meth head and some of his behavior, even from what I saw of him at our church a couple of weeks ago, makes that seem to be the case.
We cannot ignore this or any incident, big or small.
With the tragedy in Texas last Sunday I have gotten emails and calls from churches near and far, even a church from San Antonio. I may be doing some traveling soon as churches are waking up to the fact that a tragedy can happen anytime, anywhere. You all know I have been stating this for years. We at KAC, we the KAC Safety Team, need to take a hard look at how we want to serve, no, how we NEED to serve. I KNOW, I really know many of us who came to the first meeting(s) really did want to be a part of this but other obligations, family, church, job, etc., has made it hard.After a while I myself would get discouraged when in later meetings only 2 guys would show up, but praise God, discouragement was temporary as I do know there are a few of you who do keep a watchful eye. But we need to step up our operation.
Eric Bachman is the overseer of this operation and Myself and RJ Bishop are the coordinators, with RJ taking a slightly more active role as I also am part of the worship ministry and I sometimes help out with worship at other churches. I'll also be traveling on occasion to help churches step up their safety/security operations. We will be approaching individuals who we think can take a more active role in our safety/security ministry. If you are not approached, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE IT AS A SLIGHT. It could be because we feel you might have too much on your plate to commit. But if we're wrong, please approach us. In the meantime, let's be prayerfully vigilant.

Now my issue is this guy says others have not been omitted to the team, but notice his statements well I won't really be there because I'll be helping other churches set up there security team and playing music for other churches. So we are supposed to have a schedule and assigned areas I have had 3 emails from this leader in 6 months. I like and respect the guy, but we need a better leader. I will speak to the new guy taking a stronger role today. Not to mention I was notified of this situation 1.5 weeks ago by the pastor not the security team leader. They also had a picture at that time and just failed to send it out. Notice no mention of that in the notice email. I responded and asked for a picture so I will get that today. I have no problem being part of the team we just need some organization. Also notice this guy has been to other churches. Who knows what he will do today. I'll be ther with 2 guns today and 3 spare mags for my main carry gun.
