If memory serves minimum acceptable pull on milspec (granted, for 5.56) is 5.5 lbs.
Yea I think most low budget builds LPK get around 7-8lbs but have a much smaller lenght of travel

I’m debating deep in my head if something like this will actually serve me better than the Ruger PC Carbine. About 4 to 5 inches shorter is a plus. But will those few inches be worth the price? Decisions.

I was wrong about the length. I thought this would not be a rifle or a pistol but it is dependent on if it has a stock or brace and the barrel lengths for each would be normal lengths according to law.
I agree. It's impressive what Franklin has done in terms of interpretation of the law and running up to the bleeding edge of it, but I wouldn't count on any of these remaining legal for very long.Issue is if the demonrats have their way anything that even looks finitely like this will be banned. We had short term fun by working around their band and laws but all we did was educated them to make the next one all encompassing and area ourselves in the long run.
Yep. They’ll just redefine semiauto as 1 trigger pull. Revolvers included.I agree. It's impressive what Franklin has done in terms of interpretation of the law and running up to the bleeding edge of it, but I wouldn't count on any of these remaining legal for very long.
I don't see how you could reasonably incorperate guns whose actions are manipulated by human power, like a revolver or this new gun in question into semi-automatics. Everything that happens in the action to fire and rechamber a round is powered by your finger, not a sear, not gas impingement or piston driven action that both cycle the action and reset the trigger. With those all your finger did was trip a sear which allowed the hammer to go forward and start the semi-automatic chain of events that lead to one bullet being fired, another chambered and the action reset to do it all again. With the Providence, your finger controls it. There is nothing semi-automatic about it. The action is cycled manually, by your finger.
@ArmedCorgi you are 1000% right but- look at l'affaire bump stock.
@Edwardteach72 No. Salt. Why must you always take it to that level? Just stating the trend. Did you miss the threads where the ATF redefined what a machine gun is? A bump stock is now a machine gun and a semi automatic shotgun is now a machine gun. Given those trends it isn’t far fetched that in the future semi automatic will be redefined.
It’s a forum. We are entitled to our opinions on what we think they will do based on what they have already done. What level.
Oh you are right I always take it to a level..

Yes you do unfortunately. I don’t think anyone here has an issue with Franklin. Why would they? They aren’t the ones passing laws or redefining laws.God forbid someone shows a work around for the Safe act and someone cough cough instantly says nope not legal (with their legal degree) because I interpret the law this way and the product this way and everything this way...
But yup it's me I always take everything to some level

Forget it. You must have woken up on the wrong side or having some other issue.
Let’s say I hope they don’t leverage the company to a degree such that when these are outlawed they are put in dire straits.Well I guess we should tell Franklin to stop since MAYBE later down the line the "left" will change the laws and definition

Your reasonable I’m reasonable but the demonrats who don’t understand guns or how they function are completely unreasonable. What is the difference between a Ruger Mini and an AR-15 cambered in .223 looks. What I am predicting is they will ban things based on looks not function, not action, not inter workings of the gun. They feel things not think things. It’s already being talked about and planned out. Just my opinion and you clearly have yours. I stated mine you stayed yours isn’t that what a discussion forum is for?
