Franks is a one man shop he runs out of his home and Garage. Very small , messy, not much room to move around in there. Nice enough guy. I dont think he does any gunsmithing at all. You pretty much need to know what you want. If not, you're not going to find it in there. LOL Prices are better then big box stores but not by much.
I've heard good things from Correctional Officers, but I've never been able to find it. Google Maps lied to me; of course it also lied to me about the directions to Sharpshooters in Pulaski ... super nice place to deal with if you don't mind the drive (little over an hour for me).
I also like Franks in canastota too. They are a little more geared towards the FUDD. If they don't have what your looking for just ask they are pretty good at getting it for you.
Frank in Marcy does a huge amount of business and deals in large quantities at times. Prices are good but not consistent. He's fair but rushed. Willing to let you browse all you want. He is not into shooting, but is knowledgeable enough.
Another Frank (Franks Shooting Supply in Canastota is also good and fair. He is knowledgeable and will not lead you astray. He knows what you need.
I haven't been to AX Tactical yet. Soon I hope to visit.
I ask because I was looking at a lever action rifle on gunbroker and his business came up with one of the best prices I've been able to come across. Actually almost too good of a price hence why I was asking.
I want to go talk to my local guy first tomorrow to see what he can do. Was hoping to buy a used one instead.
When the G19 gen 4 first came out he was the only one not jacking prices up in the area. He would open his safes and mumble that I could browse as he went in his kitchen and did business.
