...and thousands of sheep paid, and complied...This is good. I commend them for doing this. When the 18 hour course was first mandated you saw all these "pro 2A" trainers out there saying what a horrible thing the course was and that it was imposing extra expenses on gun owners while at the same time they were charging $400 to $1000 for the course.
This is a double edged sword: I believe every Citizen of lawful age and status should be able to exercise the Rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.Need 18hrs of training in order to vote?
No?
Then this two tier hurdle placed in ordered to exercise your 2A Right is Unconstitutional!!!
Per Bruen!
Not sure why there isn't a mass non-compliance! And when denied your app, a class action suit should occur!
It is not right... And a bit ridiculous (18hrs)...
End of story!
Honestly not looking to bicker, but I'm curious what you mean by this?We need more like them, and not the likes of the profiteers that are proliferating in the 2A community. They are about 1.5 hours from NYC and are definitely worth the drive , until the NYC / LI / Westchester crowd finds out about them.
Other locations coming soon God bless these folk!!!
Where does it say in the Constitution that the document is only applicable to those who have come of age? This is a double edged sword: I believe every Citizen of lawful age and status should be able to exercise the Rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.
ALONG WITH THOSE RIGHTS, should be training:
There are some good people downstate but have you checked what they have been charging for the courses? $600-$750 after the new rules went into effect. It was only $150 prior to that in one place that I frequent.Honestly not looking to bicker, but I'm curious what you mean by this?
I'm certainly no fan of NYC myself, but there are still some righteous people living in the worst of places.
Good on them. Pretty part of the state in April and excellent trout fishing
Similarly, as a multi state saltwater fisherman, the saltwater fishing license, saltwater registry pigssnot The Shrub saddled us with. This is good. I commend them for doing this. When the 18 hour course was first mandated you saw all these "pro 2A" trainers out there saying what a horrible thing the course was and that it was imposing extra expenses on gun owners while at the same time they were charging $400 to $1000 for the course.
Where does it say in the Constitution that the document is only applicable to those who have come of age?
Status? What the hell is that? Lol
Those Rights, are not "Assigned" or established by the Constitution, they are "Recognized"! The founders were in great debate to codify rights for the very reasons they're bastardized today!
Again, putting it in words on paper is not the mechanism which establishes those Rights at all... They are there at Birth, God given, not given by Gov't!
No, anything lending to "should" while being assigned to a Right is no bueno!
Should a person only of good character be able to redress govt? Make a speech? Remain silent? Should a person only on Sundays after a full moon be able to exercise their 2nd amendment? Should only certain members of a distinct class of society be entitled to say the 4th or 5th amendments?
Should, is a terribly slippery slope!
What SHOULD happen is every Elected Representative be required to obtain Constitutional Training, especially on the BOR and when or ever, supporting any legislation in direct conflict with it, be immediately and unceremoniously removed from office and emergency elections held to fill the void! How's that for a SHOULD... Lmao!
Offering training as a voluntary act, paid for by the govt, because it wants to support those who exercise their 2A Right, awesome! But unfortunately, we all know what happens with gifts that ultimately have strings attached! So no thank you to that either!
Just (Gov't) stay the fuck out of my way in allowing me to seek and enjoy my freedoms and life! Uninhibited by a litany of regulation and codification of what I can or can't do... It's ridiculous any more!
Lastly, and again, post Bruen, I'm not sure how ANY training as a REQUIREMENT in order to exercise a Right survives scrutiny! Not sure how and or why this is not being challenged, period!
Have a great day!
Agreed.AgWhile I might applaud combating the commercial profiteering taking advantage of State Unconstitutional Requirements for this Instructional Training Course...
I still have to object as ANY participation is supporting the trolls of NY State!
There's absolutely zero chance this survives scrutiny should it be challenged based upon Bruen! Cannot understand why it has not been as it isn't any different than "Good Character" clauses... It's ridiculous...
Please show me where and what course is required for a citizen in NY State to Vote? How about to take the 5th if accused and on trial, do you require training before invoking your Right to not self incriminate?
It's a fucking joke, and a bad one! Worst yet, is the joke and laughing NY State happens upon every single person who takes this ridiculous bullshit...
If NY State was serious about it being for "Safety" reasons, it would be provided free as a service and not a "Requirement" in order to exercise a Right!
Done... That's it...
Fuck NY!
This is a double edged sword: I believe every Citizen of lawful age and status should be able to exercise the Rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.
ALONG WITH THOSE RIGHTS, should be training: When I went to School, classes such as Civics/Social Studies, Hunter Safety (gun & archery safety) and CPR were requirements for Graduation, granted not everyone could/would/did, but most did. I believe it's in the best interest of most people exercising their Rights to know what's a go or no-go, and if you think about it, most are educated to at least a small degree about each of their Rights and how they're used....The State went overboard in a childish retaliation due to their loss at SCOTUS, but that's typical of the pure evil of fucking democrats, and while the Lord admonishes us to "love thy enemy" I find it harder and harder to do.
I'm all about Training, even a minimal amount is better than "I'll figure it out for myself"...During covid, we had a good many people come in that had little to no experience with Guns: We decided that we would not sell without giving them at least some instruction including firing a few rounds.I read and interpret our Second Amendment "...a well regulated militia..." as well equipped, well trained, well practiced...
And while I do not agree with The State mandating training, myself and wife as well as the majority in the class, never handled a pistol.
This class taught us all the fundamentals.
I never realized, even though we are hunters, I never taught my wife what a cartilage is, she didn't know how to load a .22 magazine or which end the bullet was.
I've always loaded our rifles and handed her the loaded weapon.
My negligence.
Plus, personally, someone else giving her explicit instructions, made the instruction stick with her.
For me I learned many new terms, references and techniques that as a 'cloistered' hunter I never considered.
Several folks, including us, had 'disabilities".
Both instructors individuality worked with each, insuring the firearm was safely and property handled.
We've never been to a range.
Hunting season is a can on a post.
One shot each and if you hit the can, you can hit the deer.
We are well pleased we took the class and each made it thru the class
Oh and #FUKH.
