Again, I'm issued more than 40 lbs in gear. We can't carry it all, all the time. What about those assigned to a foot post? Not all cops are assigned to cars. What about plainclothes assignments?

If I were to wear all of the equipment I'm supposed to have, it would be too bulky to carry or fulfill my primary role( as opposed to fire or EMS).

If I have a defib and equipment, great. I've used it. If I don't, I'm not doing it unless I know you and even then, maybe not.

Think about it. A cop is at an airport and someone getting off the plane collapses. Who knows what this person has. I'm waiting until someone with the equipment shows up.

If your a cop in the city odds are except on gridlock days ems isn't far behind. Out in the burbs and country it may be 30 min or more behind. I know the troopers in my area cary the nessassary gear bag an AED as well as Narcan
