What a prefect way to villainize Republicans: Spend a lot of hidden money on a nobody running in an already Blue District, get him elected, then expose him as a fraud, and while we're at it link him to every other Republican...House majority was already lost (Democrats) so one more seat is irrelevant and could likely be reclaimed by appointment if he his expelled, Republicans who detest liars and deceivers will shun Santos and call for his removal.
Win-win-win for the democrats on a particularly nasty piece of Soros inspired work.

I am glad that the local Republicans are plotting to get rid of Santos in 2 years, if he does not resign and if he is not indicted. They are working on finding someone good to challenge him in the 2024 primary. Hopefully someone who has not lied about their college education and their heritage and their job history and has not committed multiple felonies.
There IS a Committee Process that has long been in place to deal with such situations and persons. THIS IS "Rule of Law" and must be observed. Can you imagine the chaos if it weren't? I dare say there isn't a single seat in Congress where someone isn't calling for their removal.
Having seen how persons are selected to run as representative candidates for the Parties, I will hold to the premise of my conspiracy theory.

Santos is a stupendous embarrassment to any group he is a part of, including liars.
To argue against him losing his post is to signal total surrender to cynicism, and is a shameless endorsement of partisan politics over public service.

George Santos is a nobody who has been made into a media celebrity by the mainstream media. He should be as anonymous and unknown to the rest of America as any other freshman representative. If you want to start upholding integrity checks for all representatives then I am right behind you. But to focus on this guy while ignoring the other liars is hypocrisy at it's finest. You have it exactly backwards. Your (and others) focus on this guy is a shameless endorsement of partisan politics - even worse because it's driven by the democrats allies in the media. Look at the media attacks on another freshman republican representative Anna Paulina Luna. Mentioned in the same breath routinely by the media as Santos it turns out the accusations against her are wrong. But it doesn't matter because the smear is the objective.
With a razor thin majority in the house the press (i.e. the democrats) are going to do everything they can to remove any Republican they can to weaken their majority. If you can't see that then I'd say you are shamelessly endorsing partisan politics. Or are just plain naive.

I agree that politics drives media coverage. There is always an agenda. That said, Santos is an extraordinary case. I consider this obvious and undeniable.
Since there is indeed a razor thin GOP majority in the house, the fate of Santos looms large. Whether the general public "should" know his name or not is completely speculative. He does however need to lose his seat.

He flagrantly lied about important details that were incredibly easy to disprove. He lied about totally irrelevant and absurd aspects of his "life" that served no purpose in the public discourse about him, other than to create another fabrication he would need to remember going forward.
He has zero redeeming qualities. The only "argument" being made is yeah but Democrats lie too!! If you got more than that, drop it in the thread below.
As mentioned previously, he's a freshman House member of relatively little prior acclaim. His ability to keep his seat, therefore, is more a referendum on our broader political process and a view into partisan interests vs public good. Get in where you fit in.

Unfortunately most of the people in politics are low base lying pos, who need to be removed from power; no matter what party they are in.

I expressed amazement that he was elected in the first place. I consider him unfit for office based on his documented challenges. I'm not even aware of whatever the latest development in his saga is, but I doubt it would render him suddenly fit for office in my view.
