I'm currently fighting with an online retailer about this. I placed an ammo order on Wednesday, never ordered from them before. I looked all over their website, nothing about not shipping to NYS or any restrictions thereof.

Yesterday I got an e-mail asking for my FFL's information. I said that hasn't been needed in NY in years, and several other online sites ship to NYS fine - I linked to TS-USA's site that has the MOU letter. They respond "that's one company's opinion", even though it had the MOU from New York... I said I've ordered from several other websites with no issue, and to just cancel the order. Shame because it was decent priced ammo.

I have not heard back yet. I told them with the COVID shit a lot of gun stores are closed. We'll see if they relent or cancel. I'll wait to name and shame until I know the outcome..

That's what t-s told me. They wont ship to the city but have no problem shipping to me. Not all g-stores are closed. The one up the road from me had a parking lot full of people outside. Call the ones near your house to be sure there closed.

I was trying to garner sympathy and have them ship to me direct.

My thinking is they shutdown the gun stores and made them nonessential right? So that violates everyone’s rights in the state because you can’t buy arms or ammunition.

You're absolutely right.
If they only shut down the gun store near you, you are still perfectly capable of driving for 10 hours to go to the only remaining gun store in the State that is allowed to remain open. There's no infringement on your Rights if you can still go buy a gun HOURS away from where you live.

Just like there is no infringement on your Rights if you can buy a single-shot .22 rifle, but absolutely NO other type of firearms. you can still buy *A* gun, so your 2nd Amendment is protected.

If you can't see how a State Government, upon shutting down "a" gun store with the excuse that it is not essential, is an infringement of your Rights then you essentially support the State's position that these are not Rights.

This is what pisses me off. The gov essentially bullied retailers so they are affraid to do business with NY. While its perfectly legal to ship ammo to NY residents many retailers gave up on us. Screw them!

All gun stores around me that I know of are closed. I didn’t realize others in the state are. I’m sure some table too FFL’s are open possibly but I don’t need anything that bad to bother one of them.

I did find one little guy that open but his inventory is limited and before this his ammo prices were double others.

It's been reported in the past that the Cuomo administrations position on this is that while there's no background check on place for ammunition yet, the ban on mail order ammunition remains in place. Of course I wouldn't expect anything less from them
