Glock 26 vs Sig P365

Who here has both? How does one handle in shooting compared to the other? I was at the gun shop today and held a 365. It is definitely a bit thinner compared to the Glock 26 but I’m not sure if that will translate to anything in a holster as far as concealing goes but I’m sure it probably feels more comfortable on the waist. Lighter too.

My deciding factor is how it shoots. With my 26, I can ring steel all day long at about 10 to 15 yards. Without even thinking about it too much. With other guns, I kind of have to concentrate on mechanics a bit more.

Had a 26 have shot a 365 a bit. As you said it’s thinner, lighter and more comfortable to carry. I don’t think from 10-15 yards you will notice much accuracy difference. The Glock was easier to shoot due to weight of course and the grip will fit bigger hands better. I didn’t shoot them side by side but recall the Glock being a bit softer shooting and controllable. If the 365 is reliable (not sure) I would go with that in this state. I like the 26 because you can put a bigger mag in it and carry a spare 17 mag. Everyone knows the p30sk is the perfect one gun for most everything though.

It felt like I got hit with a hammer in the arm. It was bad. But that’s besides the point. I’ll never carry the 26 again. It sits in my nightstand now until I have to qualify for work.

I dont know if that’s how I’d describe it because it think it comes more from the fact that it’s tougher to grip perfectly due to it’s size. I don’t have big hands. It’s definitely NOT a gun for anyone with hands even slightly larger than mine.

Dammit I’ve been thinking of the 365 to replace my 26 for carry . I do love my 26 and can shoot it as good if not better than my full size pistols . Depending on responses I may end up spending money on another carry piece .

That’s my issue. For some reason I shoot my 26 better than 1911’s and Glock 19’s. I don’t know why but I just do and it is not the first I’ve heard about it. Others have had the same experience. I’ll be torn if I cannot shoot a 365 as well. The 26 feels like a brick sometimes now.

I carried a Glock 26 for a year or two, but it was too blocky. I just shot my P365 for the first time today and it is everything I hoped. I have large hands so I am just trying to figure the proper placement of my weak hand thumb, as I have long fingers. It is easy to shoot, with little recoil and the perfect size to carry.

Same here . Had friends who had both and was lucky enough fire both guns side by side. I liked the 43 but liked the 365 a whole lot more.

I remember you posting that and I spent 30-40 minutes or so doing the same less than a month later (including the 43 and the 26). Didnt buy anything but the ergos on the SIG just felt so much better than the Glocks, melted into my grip and controls were perfectly placed.

I had/have been thinking about a CZ P01, and SIG 938 (and 238 but that's a different thread entirely) - the more I think about it I am really leaning toward the 365.

Money allowing I will still buy the P01 if I can find one but if I buy anything I mentioned here in the remainder of 2020 it will be the 365 (and a 238 for the wife and pocket carry at home but again different story).

I think I’m gonna have to drive to PA to rent one to see how it feels when I rapid fire it. For me, I think the Glock grip angle just seems to make me naturally point it better. I noticed this when I shot steel for the first time when this corona shit first started.

I was just pointing and shooting from target to target. Ping, Ping, Ping. No slow deliberate pulls like I do on paper. With other guns, my LCP and my friend’s friend’s Shield, I was missing unless I used proper mechanics. Really aiming, trigger control, ect.

Hope the 365’s grip angle isn’t too far off to what I’m used to.

Years ago I bought a G26 for my wife as a birthday present after she learned on my G17. She never really liked the 26 so she didn't shoot it much and never carried it.

Last year, out of the blue, she announced she wanted to go shopping for a gun for herself. She wanted something "smaller than the Glock". I researched the 43 as well as the Shield. My son suggested I take her to Bass Pro to fondle both. We took him along.

As we were waiting for another customer to leave my son says, "Hey, check this Sig out." And one thing that caught my eye was the price tag. Wowsers.

Anyway, she fondled all three and then a couple days later we went to the Firing Pin where she shot all three.

Back and forth she went, from gun to gun and back again. First the Shield got set aside. Then the Glock got set aside. "This one", pointing to the Sig.

"Yes, dear."

We got in the the car and I texted my son............ "Thanks a lot, peckerhead."

He texted back, with a laugh, that he knew she would take the Sig.

In answer to the OP's question, yes I (we) have both and for my purposes either one works. I don't care much about concealment and carry on the belt. Never cared for IWB. The 26 goes in a Kydex paddle holster. If I wanted to carry IWB then it would be a different story, the Sig would be more comfortable for that. And it's nice that you can get the Sig with the thumb safety if you want. But, as someone posted previously, the 26 will also accept the G17 mags and when I am where I have real G17 mags that is a big plus. So I see pros and cons to both.

Personally if I had to choose just one NY legal 9mm carry gun I wouldn't choose any of these guns. I'd go with a Commander. I don't mind the weight - I like it. Don't care for the price tag, of course. I have a Colt Series 70 9mm and it is the sweetest semi I have ever shot. It will throw snotty 147 grainers like they are BBs.

I have always found Glock to have a great grip angle for me but I just cant stand them. They are very intuitive "pointy" wise for me but they just dont feel right in the hand.

Basically- I get it, I respect it, but it isnt for me.

Once the Holosun 407k comes out I'm having my 365 slide milled. Smaller package and an optic.

G19, G43 and 365, never a G26. Now I've carried a G19 for years but never liked the G26. Got excited and bought the G43 (replacing an XDS) and have carried that for three years until I tried the 365. Better trigger, sights and ergonomics forr me. Never looked back.

So I have a vp9sk which is close enough to a 26 in size, and the 365. I shoot the vp better under stress, but the 365 carries so well it gets the call in tshirt weather. Actually, I carry it all year. I would really love it for Sig to release some 10 rounders for the xl grip. That would make the 365 perfect for me. I find it to be rediculously accurate for such a small pistol. Don't think the grip angle is Glock like though.

By the way, the 365 does have available 12 and 15 round mags available for the extra capacity for those of us outta state.
Conversely the Glock mag platform does have it's advantages in some AR9 builds and in the highly affordable Ruger PCC9 platform.

Safe Shoot has one for rent here in Ulster County in Kingston. Not sure how far away you are. Just across the border in Woodland Park NJ is Gun for Hire. I believe they have them to rent as well. I actually purchased a 365 for the wife and am now waiting for the Judge to sign off.

I have the 365 and it’s my EDC. Great firearm and easy to conceal, shoot and smooth trigger.

Not much to add except that I have fired my friends 365 quite a bit.
I am surprised how accurate it is and how comfortable it is to hold and shoot.
