Honestly, the weekend plinker probably puts a lot more rounds through there gun than most "professionals".
The vast majority of people who carry a gun for a living put it on in the morning, carry it around all day then take it off. They do this every day for 6 months, then put 50 rounds though it to "qualify". If it sees 100 rounds a year that's probably good.
Don't mistake the high end operators for the average professional. That's like comparing a CDL holder to a race car driver. Both are professional drivers, but their skillsets are vastly different (as is the reliability requirements of their gear)
