No, it won’t. A 5-4 solid majority will result in numerous conservative-leaning decisions, as it has with Kennedy on the court. Just because it hasn’t produced the decisions you want doesn’t mean the court isn’t siding with conservative values in other, very important cases.

For example, the union dues case that was just decided was huge not only because of the solidly-conservative decision but also because it disregarded stare decisis in turning over a prior decision of Scotus. That is very, very rare.

Obama is on his way out and could use one more barb to stick in the country's side. Imagine that. The repubs cave and approve Garland, Hillary gets elected like they all thought and Ruth retires, then Kennedy...there goes the Supreme Court and America with it. No? No way in hell someone or some party could be that ambitious, right? Every official and every government org has our best interests at heart, right? The relevent authorities found not one iota of doubt that his death wasn’t suspicious. Political musings of conspiracy-minded individuals is not one of the check boxes in criminal investigations.

They are supposed to rule based on what the Constitution says to the letter no matter what their political affiliations are.

The glut of 5:4 decisions, all along party lines, must dispel any myth by anybody that the SCOTUS is little more than extensions of the legislative branch at this point.

I say little because from time to time they make intelligent decisions with unanimous or near unanimous support, but it's rare. But, taking what we can get, I tend to align more with the politics of the republican party than the democratic, so what more can we really hope for currently? Most of the decisions are guided heavily by the personal political leanings of the justice.

Unless you were part of the investigation and have first hand knowledge of the scene and evidence, you don't really know and neither do I. You can only either trust what comes out in the police report and media or not trust it. Regardless of whether or not "political musings of conspiracy minded-individuals is one of the check boxes in criminal investigations, doesn't negate that conspiracies and cover ups exist. In the recent political climate (Benghazi, hillary's emails, the DNC, Pee Dossier, the FBI/deep state attempt to unseat a duly elected president, fake news, Etc. Etc. all arguably conspiracies to commit treason, fraud, perjury or any number of crimes) I have lost the ability to just take certain things at face value. I'm not saying there is 10D chess being played I'm just saying, to me, the whole thing seemed suspicious. Why was his sleep apnea mask off when they found him? Did he "forget" to put it on before bed? Why was there a pillow case on his head? Did he forget his blindfold? His health conditions were really the "plausible" cause for his death. It's something most people would just accept and move on. It's also convenient for plausible deniability.

That is really all I have in this debate. I can't prove you wrong. You have the official script and I have my paranoid theory. I'm sorry if it makes you think I'm crazy to entertain the idea that this sort of thing could happen in America.
