GOSHEN – A Fort Morgan, Colorado man was arrested on Sunday morning for possession of a loaded AR-15 assault rifle following a motor vehicle accident on Route 17 in the Town of Goshen.

State Police from the Town of Wallkill barracks responded to the highway and determined Jeffrey Burns, 35, had driven his pickup truck off the road and struck a car parked on the shoulder.

It was determined that Burns was intoxicated. Further investigation revealed the loaded weapon as well as several magazines and several hundred rounds of ammunition.

He was charged with three counts of felony criminal possession of a weapon and a misdemeanor of DWI.

Burns was remanded to the Orange County Jail without bail.

Well, not at all true. In Texas for example, if you are drunk in public and armed, you can be charged with a Felony.

That is only one example. NY sucks, yeah I get that, but many other States suck as well!

My point is simple; all of the time, I read people posting how shitty NY laws are compared to other States. Yep, NY sucks in that regards; but even these free States that everyone here compares us to, has some pretty crappy laws as well.

I don't consider Texas a free state. Sure you can own any rifle but you can't carry a pistol anywhere you want. No Carry Signs hold the force of law and the government themselves restrict carry in many places that most states do not.
