When Bill Weld was seeking the Republican nomination for New York Governor (with the backing of then Gov Pataki and GOP Chair Sandy Tredwell) in 2006, he could not even stir up a Republican primary and got his butt kicked at the nominating convention by John Faso's grass roots campaign. I don't think Weld presents much of a threat to the President. What I don't yet understand, is why was the "gun control" supporting Weld previously scheming with Larry Sharpe for a Libertarian ticket?
