'They' should have zero input. They're here illegally. They're criminals. They don't have the rights of a US citizen. Human rights, of course, but not Constitutional rights. Give them food and shelter while waiting for their flight to depart with a one way ticket back to their homeland.
What Human Rights are you speaking of? Can you list these Rights as you see them? I am sure there are differences out there when compared to yours and my ideas.

Higher taxes= more people and business'es leaving. Especially after his fucking covid lockdown which has destroyed small business and peoples dreams . Those people might give it another try, but not here. NYS has been hostile to small business for decades. We've only seen the beginning of the flight from New York and he's telling them to hurry up. And when the taxes from NYC are short , he's going to be forced to turn to upstate people to try to make up the difference. Hes going to be forced to crank up taxes everywhere as people flee his communist state which is going to push even more people out. Hes got NYS on a downward spiral straight into the ground.

In retrospect my comment should not have read human rights rather, human decency. I do believe a meal and a cot waiting for their one way flight home is decency. Even though as criminals the decency aspect is reduced.

We all have the right to take part in the government of our country. Every grown-up should be allowed to choose their own leaders.
This is pure AMERICAN ARROGANCE.
Social Security.
We all have the right to affordable housing, medicine, education, and childcare, enough money to live on and medical help if we are ill or old.
Nope, I do not agree with this one either.
Workers’ Rights.
Every grown-up has the right to do a job, to a fair wage for their work, and to join a trade union.
Um, no way.
Food and Shelter for All.
We all have the right to a good life. Mothers and children, people who are old, unemployed or disabled, and all people have the right to be cared for.
No way!! A good life is not a Right, neither is food or housing.
The Right to Education.
Education is a right. Primary school should be free. We should learn about the United Nations and how to get on with others. Our parents can choose what we learn.
People have a Right to be taught by their family and through their life experiences. Free education is not a Right.
Just a few of these Rights that so many think should extend to all. Not me.

A right is something intrinsic to being a human being. Something we are all born with.
A right *cannot* require anyone elses labor.
That's why we have a right to keep and bear arms, not a right to arms provided by the government.
The first cavemen had a right to bear whatever arms they could lay their hands on. They did not have a right to modern healthcare.
I would say the basic human rights are spelled out in the bill of rights. They are essentially rights to be left alone by the government.

I can't wait for the next round of union contracts. Going to be lots of unhappy minions. The Ponzi scheme in NY about to collapse. I wrote a rather extensive paper tearing this document apart at the seams in a 400-level class as an undergrad.
Professor was oddly not amused though it was a good paper well within the four corners of the assignment, if I do say so myself. And that was 1998 - I can only imagine how it would be received today.
