This is why I'm against open carry in public. Not because of a rights issue but because of a tactical issue.

And this article shows the true nature of a liberal. They do not trust themselves with guns because they would use it over something completely pointless such as fighting over a parking spot (to quote Hillary Clinton herself), and in this case the simple sight of the gun was enough to make this guy shoot someone else. Liberals think everybody feels the way they do , that is why they don't trust the common public to carry guns.

I am against infringements, as in people's opinions, feelings and fears don't impact my rights.
I Open carried for years never had an issue. Just because you open carry doesn't relieve you the responsibility to be situationally aware.

We've been through this before. You don't do many activities that would not be conducive no matter how aware you think you are.

Example, dance clubs, baseball games, rock concerts, ect.

You are correct, I do not put myself in situations where I would be vulnerable to sensory overload. However, just being in public still requires quite a bit of situational awareness.

@Willjr75 I disagree on OC in public. Open carry should be a choice. Obviously making the open carry choice places a new burden of responsibility on the carrier. Along those lines one also needs to be cognizant of what he/she will be doing and where you will be doing it. It also brings the need of a higher degree of awareness since you are showing everyone that you carry and you need to be ready for any mal-intentions.

I always carry concealed since that is all I can in this great state of ours. I dont like or ever let anyone ever stand directly behind me within arms reach unless its my girl friend, kids or other family member. I never sit and or stand with my back facing the door or general public. You will always see me standing in front of something that another individual cant get between.

You need to remember that the majority of the public does not want you to carry and it makes them uncomfortable knowing that you do.

That idiot should have the book thrown at him.

Last time I open carried daily was in the 90s in AZ this was before they legalized concealed carry. I used to take my kid to the Mc Donald's to play at the play place. You could always tell who the newly assigned people were, they would whisper something about the guy with the gun sitting over there. Ft Huachuca has a gang problem it may be a lot worse now then it was back then but, it still had gang issues when I was stationed there. Most of the mothers were happy to see a man with a gun watching over his kid and theirs by extension. I have been to a monster truck show while open carrying and I was not the only one there OCing it was probably the safest monster truck rally in the USA.

Open carry works well to keep the vermin away. Used to be concealed carry was looked down upon as those who concealed were cowards and would attack sneakally. Only criminals and cowards carried concealed in the 50-80s. I got my first CC permit in the late 80s when Oregon began issuing CC permits. I have carried both open and concealed. I prefer to carry open and do it when I am in a state where I can even if they recognize my NY or PA carry Cards.

So true I believe, but maybe because we come from a jailed suppressed gun hating state. Whereas Overland KS has been Open carry for 5 years and need no permits for Conceal carry or most anything, so it's a good chance even your example would be a smack on the wrist and not life behind bars like NY would.

Me, I prefer to Open Carry. I am well trained and can handle my own. I do not the Government to tell me how I should or shouldn't carry my freaken gun!!!

I am guessing you are referring to my opening statement. I as well was not referring to legality. But actual choice being for tactical or any other reason.

The choice to OC should be made because the individual is comfortable with it. And not because of any tactical reason.

Sorry I have to dispute this pot t also. With some training and experience one can spot a lot of concealed carries. Once spotted they can remove the gun from your person just as easily as open carry. The only advantage concealed carry is hoping the bad guy doesn't realize your armed.

Right I could teleport too but the point is you cannot stop me unless you stand backwards in line and continually tell me to keep an arm's distance.

That's my point. It's rare but it happens. An off duty cop working security and open carrying got robbed of his gun not too recently.
