Gun store packed wrong ammo for m1 garands

So i took the ol garand out recently, opened a pack that has enbloc clips with ammo on them already, this is the pack

grabbed one and loaded in my rifle. Fired, nothing. Cycled a new round, fired still nothing. took that enbloc out and changed a new one thinking it was just a bad batch of ammo?
Took awhile for me to figure out that one of the enbloc clips has wrong ammo on them! Wtf. side by side its quite obvious but when they were on the pack altogether it was hard to catch. kinda bad packing by the gun store eh?

anyone know what this is?



good thing that didnt blow up in my face or something. also op rod got stuck on the second round i chambered, i had to smack it with a 2X4.

I don't / wouldn't buy any ammo sold in a plastic bag. But if I did, I'd certainly verify what it was before I bought it and used it in a firearm that I own...

P25 is a German marking. It's probably 8mm Mauser.

This shop does need to be taken to task for this. While I'm not surprised the shorter 8x57mm Mauser round wouldn't fire in the longer chamber of a 30-06 if it had you'd be swaging down a .32 caliber projectile down a .30 caliber bore. Given that 8mm Mauser military surplus is loaded to a pretty high pressure, that would likely cause a catastrophic failure.
Whoever was packing the rounds needs to know this. The shop needs to correct this before somone gets hurt.

for Garand, you have to use GI Ball ammo. Unless you get an adjustable gas block. That ammo is really wrong. I would notify them.

havent got the chance to let them know yet, been very busy at work. i want to email and show them the pictures since i live almost 1.5 hours away so i wont be having the time to drive there anytime soon. hopefully this weekend i can contact them

They absolutely need to know about this ASAP. Send an email with pictures. This is the sort of thing that could potentially get someone hurt.

ok, so just got off the phone with them, he said no problem just bring in the ammo and he will make it right for me. also he said he will check the others he has on stock. i told him i sent the pics as well so he will take care of it.
