I pick them up if they are in good shape and under $175. They make great first guns for grandkids.

I bought a 410 reloaded so it should fit down the cost of shooting it.

Do you still use it? Or kids in the family?

They are alwa listed on gun broker. But go for to much money and then shipping, del cost and pit here State of Washington " USE TAX" same rate as the local sales tax.

Here is an older fun gun, actually two of them.

Ithaca model 66 - 410 gauge lever break open single-shot.
And an old Ithaca model 49 - 22lr lever to drop the block to load it.
Both low priced guns back in the late 60s to mid 70s.

When I took my grand son out shooting we took tjem for him to shoot.
I'm sure many of you have had one some time or another or used one in your younger years.

The one on the left is the 410, the one on the right is the 22lr.
Both accurate fun shooting guns.

I had these back in the day and still have several.of them.

I'll post another youth gun after we get out and shoot one. There are several of them to write about.

+1 on the Itacha M49 Lever Saddle guns. They were a solid feeling accurate little gun with their Martini / Peabody actions. Mine was an early 60s standard model, my brothers had nice looking mid 60s premium and presentation models. We shot these nearly everyday using either our indoor bullet containment trap (a Christmas gift my parents got me from my uncle's local sporting goods store) or at our own private back yard berm range. We went through a bunch of .22 shorts when we got cases of them them for about a quarter a box at my uncle's store. It was a great time to be a kid.

I get it out now and then, would never sell it. I can still remember my dad taking me out the first time to shoot it, brought an old Clorox jug, hung it off a limb. As light as it is I being that young it was heavy but I got it every time ! LOL

Guns like these will never be made again. Thete are hundreds of thousands of childhood memories of these old guns.
Steal you were lucky to be ble to shoot indoors or in the yard. When I was growing up we had a to walk about a mile to shoot, my father died when I was eleven so it was go alone or so with a neighbor kid.
22 ammo was really cheap back then, a note from my mother and I bought my 22 ammunition
We use to shoot a lot of 22 Long ammo at the time, you never see any of it these days, when I do I pick it up.
I love these memories, I'm sure others do as well.

I’ll be 71 next birthday and still have my Savage 24 410/22 that I got for my twelfth birthday. I also have a JC Higgins mod 31 in nearly new condition that I got when dad passed away, still shoots great.

Two good guns there, I think a lot of us older guys have a shotgun/rifle combination t one time or another.
Years ago I had a 20 gauge with a 222 on top. I traded it off for something or another a long time ago.

The Sears J.C. Higgins line of guns were great guns. I have several of them.
About 45 years ago my oldest brother gave me his old J.C. Higgins 12 gauge bolt action shotgun. Like a dumb ASS I traded it off for something which I have no idea what I traded it for. A few years ago I got a C&R Permit so I could replace some of my youth guns I use to have or wanted.
The first gun I bought on my C&R Permit was a 12 gauge J.C. Higgins bolt action.
I just had it out shooting a couple of weeks ago. I need to get a picture of it and add to this post.
